Does anyone else feel like they have 0 supply at night? I feel like Kendrick is constantly nursing…

I did in the beginning, but it was a growth spurt. If he wouldn't get enough milk, he would be crying and it is great that he is constantly nursing bc it stimulates your breasts and makes you produce more! Demand and supply! And of course he will sleep longer or more with formula - breastmilk is 'lighter'. Breastfeed babies eat more regularly than Formula feed babies. What you can always do if it is you or he is not lashing on properly, you can give him the breast and if he is still hungry after feeding both breasts add a bottle. That bottle can be 1-2oz breastmilk from pumping after feeding or Formula. Have you talked to a lactation consultant?

Yea I have a lactation consultant, I texted her about my problem but she never replied so I'm not sure what to do lol. The other night he was absolutely inconsolable and I gave him formula and he drank 4oz and was ok. Tonight he drank 4 more oz and he's finally asleep. It's only been a couple days so I was worried about what was going on lol. He always eats and sleeps so well during the day, but around 12-2 am he's fussy and always wanting to be on the boob. @mi.mommy

He sounds like a healthy baby and it is ok to give him a bottle! Never feel bad bc you are not 'just' breastfeeding. There is so much pressure on breastfeeding that some people forget that not everyone is the same!

That applies to my little one! He eats and sleeps great but as soon as it is past 8pm he is starving and eats more than usual on the day. He eats more frequently or more oz! And that stupid time change makes him stay up longer 😓

I breastfed him till 5w and now solely pump and give him formula after too! My boy has a latching issue and wasn't sucking enough milk, therefore I was producing enough - but since I solely pump, my supply has been up but it is still a catch up game with him bc he is now drinking 4oz regularly. And yesterday evening I pumped 4oz (proudly and extremely happy for the 1st time😊) just for him to have 4oz breastmilk and 2oz formula 😓! This boy is a hungry one 😋

My SO made a shitty ass remark about me giving him formula and I'm just so unhappy about it. I try so hard to feed him all day and night but it's just these couple hours that I feel like I can't keep up with him. I always let him nurse from both sides until it gets to the point that he's uncomfortable or my nipples feel like they're on fire and I cave and give him a bottle. I definitely do not want to stop breast feeding.

I need to start pumping more. My pump sucks and I really just need to spend the money and get a new one that's comfortable for me to use. I'd love to have a stash in the freezer so I didn't have to worry about him needing a bottle @mi.mommy

I don't have even have a stach 😂 I have enough for 1- 1 1/2 day supply in the fridge. Your insurance mostly covers Breast pumps!

And don't let someone ever -not even a person you love- put you down! You are his mom and knows best! My hubby made a similar mistake and I took him with me to the lactation consultant! I was there 4 times!!! And when he was there she explain that my baby boy has a lip issue and it isn't me ... he just doesn't suck enough!

There are plenty of breastfeeding support groups - you should join! It is important to find support and trust me, you will find out that many women need to give their baby breastmilk and formula! You can even ask your pediatrician- mine said that it is very common for boys later!

But as long as your baby boy is gaining weight (~1oz a day) and is healthy with just breast milk, you shouldn't need to add formula. We had that problem - he wasn't gaining weight 😅

You can call the hospital and rent a hospital grade pump from them! If you don't want to buy and try it out...

I feel the pain! I had to supplement my baby too bc my supply was low! Some breastmilk is better than none! Have u tried taking fenugreek ? Drink lots of water and food! Like the other moms said definitely visit a lactation consultant or la leche league they are able to help!

I just can't imagine him going to bed with a hungry tummy. And that's probably why he doesn't sleep very good at night either. I'd think having 1 bottle of formula at night would be ok without getting shitty comments. Ohwell.

My insurance is weird and I need to be approved. I've been waiting since 2 months before I gave birth for a pump. And to rent from the hospital is too expensive for how long I'd need it for @mi.mommy

I'm going to pick some of that up and give it a try. I used to have soooo much milk all the time and now it's just horrible. @elysiansmama
