When my son cluster feeds my boobs don't leak because they're never getting full enough. The baby is still getting enough milk tho

I just feel like shes not getting enough milk even tho shes on there for a while but apparently its not bothering her cause she falls asleep right after its just idk how much shes getting since i stopped pumping

My lactation nurse said as long as baby appears satisfied after nursing and has several wet diapers throughout the day, then she's getting enough. If not satisfied, she'd continue to cry or make a sucking motion, or try to root.

Well she only makes sucking noises when shes hungry and then after she has been eating for a bit she starts to fall asleep @ginz

@celiesmommy01 mine used to do that too! Lol... I would lightly blow on her face, lift her arm or dab her face or neck with a wet washcloth to wake her while nursing. Your supply might be leveling out too. I've been told our body adjusts to our babies needs.

What do you mean by leveling out like only limiting what she needs? @ginz

Producing based on her needs. It's like supply and demand.

At one point I became worried I wasn't producing enough bcoz my boobs stopped feeling full (tight, hard, engorged). My doc explained it's normal and my body was adjusting based on baby's needs and it shouldn't always feel engorged. I was producing what she needed and not over-producing.

Buuuuut... i get worried too. So, every now and then I take Motherlove More Milk to bump my supply. That engorged feeling gives me peace of mind that I'm producing enough. Lol... I also pump and feed her a bottle once a day to ensure she's getting enough and I'll compare her behavior after she's eaten with nursing.

So its ok to pump and give her a bottle every now and then cause now that she just started latching on well the only way shell nurse is me using the breast shield but i dont want her getting used to wanting the bottle again. And after shes done nursing she falls straight to sleep even when shes still on my boob lol @ginz

@celiesmommy01 ooooh yeah... nipple confusion? then it's good to wait. Girl... mine still falls asleep while nursing but she can seriously chow down and sleep at the same time now. 😂 but omg isn't it the cutest thing... gotta cherish the moments. 😍

@ginz idk why shell only nurse with a nipple shield im gonna talk to a lactation nurse to see why but as long as shes happy which she does then im happy. And mine does the same thing its just when shes in a deep sleep were the boob is just there with her on it lol😍😂

I just randomly saw your post hah, but my son would only nurse with the nipple shield for 3 months. Right before his 3 months bday, he latched without. So keep tryin to give it to her without the shield
