How do I start weening toward breastfeeding with no nipple sheild??

For me, it took time.....I had to just keep trying to give without but not pushing it because I didn't want them to stop wanting to latch.... Eventually they grew out of the shield.....I used it because they were small to latch on

I try to practice without it but he doesn't want anything to do with it without the sheild because he sucks on his tongue and lip

I don't think you really need to wean. The nipple shield helps baby learn to suck without getting so much milk at once. Take it off and see how he takes it. I used mine on and off for 2 weeks.
