How can I increase my supply? I'm barely getting 2 ounces and it's not filling her up like it used to. I feel like she's not getting enough and my poor boob are suffering.

if you are breastfeeding.. she's probably getting more than you think. because pumping doesn't equal what they get from the breast.

@beebaby, I'm trying. I mostly have to pump cause she has trouble latching and gets really mad if it don't happen like the first try

@babyromo, I feel better when she's on the breast cause she seems more full but she hardly actually does it mostly I just have to pump 😔

Pump and feed her as much as possible to make your body think it needs to make more. Always stay hydrated. I had to use Nipple shields to help both my babies latch and they worked wonders.

One of my twins didn't latch well, so I had to pump for her. She would get tired mid-feed. They were NICU babies so I also had to set my supply using a pump. So, to get it going, I pumped every three hours to start. Once I had a regular flow, I was allowed a 5 hour break overnight and it didn't effect my supply. My girls were in the NICU for 11 weeks, and they didn't eat more than a few ML at a time the first month, so the on demand thing wasn't something I could do if I expected to meet their needs down the road. So, a pump can help you get your supply up if you want to try that route. It's possible your baby isn't a strong nurser for whatever reason. My one twin had low muscle tone and ended up having to have a bottle because it was easier. My oldest daughter had a high palette and I needed to use a nipple shield to get a better latch. So, another thing to consider is talking with a lactation consultant to determine what might be the culprit for the nursing struggles while simultaneously working on your supply with a pump.
