Co-Sleeping: Risks vs Rewards | How this practice, not recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics is making it's way into American households.
Sometimes Co Sleeping is the only was my little one will Sleep. I'm just scared I'm going to smother her.
I feel so
Much better after reading your comments regarding co-sleeping. I felt so bad because I co-sleep with my daughter. But honestly I helps us through the night... well at least helps us get more consecutive hours of sleep
Every baby and family are different just like everything else in parenting.
My son sleeps in his crib in his own room and I sleep with my husband in our room and that's how we like it.
Co sleeping is the best thing since slice bread I care zero what anyone wants to say n I tell my doctor that I co sleep. I kick my husband out of the bed n my daughter n I sleep in Our queen size
Didn't plan to share my bed but it was the only way she would sleep is if she was close to me or my fiancé. Been doing this for almost 6 months. She loves it An so do I. We cuddle when my fiancé leaves for work An I love when she wakes me up in the morning. ❤️
Wasn't planning on co sleeping/bed sharing but someone suggested side nursing when I first started breastfeeding and haven't stopped ever since. Love it. I'm dreading the day she leaves my bed 😭😩
I love sleeping with my baby girl, I can feel any of her little movements right away and can attend to her easier, and it's lovely to feel her next to me ❤❤
My daughter slept in bed with me until she was 5 lol always was very safe and we both bonded . I had a hard time when she starts sleeping in her own bed but her and I both sleep a lot better
I would say it makes it easier for me, cosleeping, the baby gets sleep and I get sleep. But if course I make sure he's safe first. I've been trying to transfer him to the crib more and nap in the crib more than the boppy. It's been going alright, but if he's in the crib I get up several times a night to go check on him. But he seems more comfy in bed with us .
I sleep with my guy face to face. I knew someone who would "loose" her baby amongst the blankets and that wouldn't be safe. I can't sleep if he's bedside. I sleep so much better hearing and feeling him breathing.
What is so mind boggling is that they don't know what causes SIDS or why infants die from if or how to prevent is but they say co sleeping with ur child can be a reason kids die from sids no sense ..
Since my son left nicu he's been with me. He's colicy as well I feel safer with him next to his dad and i
I co slept with my little one from the time she came home till she turned 1. Most nights we slept vertically I was scared she would fall and I wanted to be right there in case anything happened. Now she sleeps in her crib sometimes in the same room and some times in a different room.
Yes to co-sleeping ❤😴 We worked with a sleep consultant who also said it was fine to co-sleep if done safely. I love the cuddles and closeness with my baby and I know my baby feels safer and more secure because we are close. There are many options (e.g. in own beds part of the night and co-sleep for part of the night — this is fairly typical!). Anyway, I recorded two podcast episodes about sleep with my sleep consultant. Her name is Dr Angelique Millette and you can listen to her on the Fourth Trimester:

Co sleeping has many benefits for both mom and baby, when common sense us used and safety guidelines are followed. Co sleeping also does not necessarily mean in the same bed, just the same room. However, I bed share with my now 19 month old and have since birth. I just practice safe bed sharing.
I always felt my son was safer in the bed with me than in his own bed. I don't have to worry so much.
I cosleep with my five month old. Since he came out of my womb. Doctors would tell me not to but I did anyways. Wouldn't have it any other way. I worry so much when he sleeps by himself. Plus he doesn't sleep very long. Easier for me.
I cosleep with my Charlie for 27 months now. My little cuddle bug 💙
I have done co-sleeping method with all 4 of my kids. I've loved it since day one. Peaceful sleeping.
I co slept since day one I love it and it helps so much:)
Bed share 🤗 ❤ it! Slept with 1st for 3 years now I bed share with my 6mo old. & of course we all hang out in mommy's bed each and every morning.
Bed sharing is the only way we get any sleep with my colic son. Saved our sanity! He sleeps on my chest or daddy.
Same here as @kelseystaples! It was never the plan but after falling asleep with him a few times I decided to because his nights and days were mixed up and we only slept if he was in bed with me. I figure it is better to bed share on purpose and safely than to be so exhausted that you fall asleep feeding and the bed isn't prepared to be shared. We just now got his nights and days flipped to our schedule and he is finally sleeping in his cradle beside my bed for 5-6 hrs. *i do have a king bed and kicked the puppies and husband out of the room. & once he falls asleep, I lay him beside me so he is perpendicular to me with his feet touching my chest.
I'm bed sharing and I never want to it was never my plan but my baby had her days and nights mixed up and would only sleep when I was holding her. Now that Iv got her sleeping at night I'm working on getting her into her bassinet.
I do co sleeping but she is in her own bed in a cosleeper
There is actually an article that states that if BED SHARING is done correctly SIDS is actually lowered. We have co slept since day 1 and we have loved it
Co sleeping is fine.. co sleeping just means baby is in the room with you.. bedsharing is what the aap does not recommend..but if you do it safely.. i dont see the issue
If practiced safely co sleeping actually reduces the risk of SIDS because the babies heart rate and breathing matches moms. The risks are real but most are from practicing unsafe practices. I adore it!!!

It's so much better especially when breastfeeding those late night feedings aren't so bad with Baby right there lol
