Anyone's doctor give their baby Zantac for reflux? Pretty sure little guy has silent reflux. Doctor is going to call in…

@dylansmom, thanks. I called the doctor and he said it was okay as long as he drank the whole bottle so he gets all the meds. I will try it again before I put it in his bottle though.

Or u can ask the pharmacy to flavor the liquid but i dont know if it tastes good or not that way.

You really arent supposed to dilute it in his bottle. The pharmacist specifically made a point to tell me that. It does taste horrible i tried it but what i do is give it to him during feeding time so i shoot the syringe in his cheek then shove the bottle in so he swallows the medicine and the milk washes the bad taste away

He is going to take .8 ml 2 times a day for now. I tried to put it in his cheek, I thought he swallowed it but then he made this face, stuck his tongue out and spit it out. We will follow up with the doctor next week. Thanks ladies. @matchison89 @dylansmom

Well its definitely helped but its only been a few days so it hasnt taken it away by any means but i see an improvement already. I am not keeping him on it too long though it really isnt too good for them

depending how bad it is and if he his throat is all burnt up it can take a week. that stuff tast nasty so he wont like it, i shot it into his cheek were he had no choice but to swallow it

@matchison89, @dylansmom how long did it take for the mess to work? I just started today, but of course I think he spit most of it out. I called the doctor and he said I can put it in his bottle as long as he finishes the whole bottle. So I will try that with the next dose.

Mine makes those noises too. It's scary, but he can breath. I took video of it and showed it to the doctor to make sure. @matchison89

of course it is lol, i would recommend medication if its not helping. my son cried all the time and made gasping nosies( not chocking, throat was buring) had to sleep up right. he never threw up

Thanks @matchison89 the doctor recommended the formula he is on now, it is a hypoallergenic formula, it is more expensive however. Lol.

be careful with formula, i was suggest it is hard on babies with reflux. not trying to be pro breastfeeding on ya lol see what kind of formula your dodctor recommends

Thanks. @matchison89 I'm hoping it helps. He is on similac alimentum formula now, which has helped his diaper rash and gas but poor thing is still hurting.

yes!! my son was on it for 8 months. my son was also considered "silent reflux baby" i dont take the screaming very silent but the medication did work!
