My little one has bad reflux and has tried gaviscon and it made her constipated then she was put on aptamil anti reflux…

@noshinxoxo ah that's awful it's nothing worse when they don't listen I'm a first time mam and I think they just think I am being silly. I had to speak to four different doctors just to get the aptamil on prescription. What worry me sometimes aswel as they say allergies can have the same symptoms and doctors are ignoring parents. I know someone who said it took there friend a year to get the doctors to do anything and it turned out the child had milk allergies.

I understand babies get reflux and stuff but it's worrying when they keep being sick and not putting enough weight and the health visitor is on my back. All I do is worry. And I'm there tomorrow I will do thank you x

@chelseyleamason92 BTW stick to your guns. For months they made me feel like I was chatting shit. I took pictures of how much vomit he did and still they didn't believe me and wouldn't prescribe anything. I took him to an osteopath at my breastfeeding consultants advice, paid money for nothing. I literally felt so lost as a FTM. Went to visit my mums for a week and she was like nope, this isn't normal. And that's when I got angry and persisted with doctors and hvs etc.

Renetadine? I'm not sure what it was but unlike gaviscon I didn't have to mix it in milk, just give it straight up. Also another thing! Infacol made my little one worse! Because it wasn't colic and they all kept telling me to use it, but omg he struggled and cried all night with Infacol.

@erincharlie1226 I'm back at the doctors tomorrow as I keep getting passed off I think they think I'm a crazy first time mam. She projectile vomit and can't lie on her back 2 hours after feeding she will still bring it up also have had issues where she's been consipated and then it's like water and smells. I've been to the doctors lots now. It's not nice seeing them cry and arch their backs

I tried everything. And then I went against docs advice and started solids at 4months (he was already sitting up unaided though) and only then did it start to calm down. He used to sleep in pools of his own vomit. Everything would come back up. Was awful. But yeah I agree with @abbeyc167 they just need to grow out of it. There's something other than gaviscon though that I was prescribed after.

She drinks 60z every 3/4 hours through the day and is having a 7oz before bed as she sleeps from 11 till 4/5. I've always fed her on demand she's had reflux from the start, I've tried colief gripe water infacol you name it. Also keep her upright at night and don't put her down straight away after a feed I wait 20/30 mins after. I keep getting told when I go to baby clinic that she's not putting enough weight on and keeps dropping a centile or something. She was 8.10 born. X

Allergy ?

My son had bad reflux and a lot of my friends babies. I find that nothing really helps they sort of grow out of it! I used to give him an extra scoup of his milk to his ounces of a night so he wasnt so sick and more full. I put him on normal milk at 8 months and he seemed a lot better especially with weening x
