So hubby and I can't seem to agree on who our babies godparents should be! We just had a big fight about it and he just doesn't want to talk about it and gets mad!!! I want my sister and her hubby and he wants his sister and her hubby. He's ok with it being my sister but he says he doesn't get along with her husband. So I said well I don't get along with your sister's husband either!!! I don't know what to do!!! I'm so pist off!!!!!! Can we have two couples??
hey go for it although they can be far they are just a phone call away.. so two are great👍😃
Thank you so much @woahmama w
I think we're gonna end up doing the 2 couples. I'm ok with his sister and husband but they live so far and won't even be a part of our son's life inless we go visit and that's only once a year since they live in Mexico. on the other hand my sister lives half a block away and helps us out all the time and vice versa.
i totally ubderstand...i think you need to pray and ask for guidance so that you two woukd be on one accord. ill be praying for you guys
I really don't have any friends honestly the only people I interact with is my family and my hubbys friends all live in Mexico and I wouldn't want any of his friends either lol @woahmama
Our tradition is to select someone that will help guide your child and be there for them if anything were to happend to us. I want someone that loves and cares for my child and my sister is all that. @showersoverflowers
we chose people outside of the family to be our childs God parents we believe that brothers and sisters already have the pleasure of being aunts and uncles. So we chose that has the same faith and values and different dynamics growing up so that our child can have many different understandings of life not just how our family raised us.
Also wanted to add, we don't really choose specific people. The entire church body accepts the responsibility of being parents of faith
You can absolutely do do two couples. I'm curious to know what your tradition is for Godparents? for us the people we assign as Godparents are responsible for showing our children the walk of faith. I know other traditions in which Godfathers help find a suitable spouse or help with financial responsibilities so I am just curious
Yes we choose the godparents and we baptize him at the church. We are doing it summer 2017 so we still have time to make a decision @cubanese
