so serious question not regarding me but I have a friend who smoked weed up until her 32nd week pregnant and she's now 34 weeks how long would it take for her to clean her system and what should she do? all because she was getting sick and couldn't eat
My sister did it when she was pregnant and she did it up to a week before she had my nephew and they didn't say anything, but here Drs also knew as well, so I would def have her talk to her Drs. And she smoked her whole pregnancy
then that girl still has 4 months to go. hopefully thats enough time to clean out but idk how long stays in the placenta. @kaitibabiie
And thats still true she wont be able to clean out the placenta. So theres not much concrete theory to go off of really. If I was her Id just do what I could to clean as much as I could seeming as thats her only option. Medicaid does drug test though so if shes on that they probably already know.
@jade2017, the girl who found out her 5th month used to do it a lot and then completely quit until she let her urge get her and she did it once since then and claims she had one hit off a blunt and just wants to be clean so she doesn't lose her baby.
@newlywedmama21, I've met some people who don't even smoke and tested positive from inhaling it by being around it so much too though.
please dont take it the wrong way I am not one to judge anything Im just going off of what I already know. If you smoke a lot, like the 8 plus months then it will take more than one month to get out of your system.
if you smoke just once in a while then of course it will be out of the system a lot quicker than a "heavy smoker" like mrs.n.2014 said It still doesn't undo any "possible" damage.
the girl that broke down and did it like once in the 5th month it would depend on how much and how often she smoked. @kaitibabiie
yea water to flush out her system and hope for the best #teamnojudgement
@jade2017, well I had a friend that smoked at the beginning before she actually knew because she didn't know until like her 5th month and then broke down and let her urge get to her because she was stressed and she's due about the same time as me and doesnt know if it'll affect her or the child when she gives birth I'm just asking for them because I mean I've made stupid choices too before so I can't really judge. everyone is saying lots of water but they don't know how long it'll take for it to clear if they haven't done it ever or in months.
Well, she can't clean out the placenta. I find defining a continuous action for months as a mistake is a cop out, and I was an everyday smoker until I got pregnant for PTSD & a severe panic disorder. She should discuss it with her doctor, they'll be able to tell her the hospital protocol. Some hospitals will call CPS, some won't. If she's on Medicaid they usually have you drug tested multiple times during your pregnancy.
my friend said she smoked til 28 weeks, the doc found it in her blood at her glucose test but it wasn't mentioned at delivery. ur friend needs to try and flush her system out but it will still be in babys first poop. only thing she can do about that is not act weird at the hospital and maybe they won't test baby
Tell her start taking cranberry pills and drink a lot of water . Like a lot a lot , I know someone who also smoked because otherwise they got to sick but they stopped in the second tri
@shellbell0391 Yep, they detected it in my nephews poop. They were serious about it. We have to make better choices.
well if she has been smoking her whole pregnancy it could take up to 60 days to get it out of the system. I just had a friend too that got cps called for the same reason when she gave birth. Tell her to be drinking a ton of water until her due date and Hope for the best
@bonniesue, @junesmommy_15 her thing is it is her first baby and she made a dumb mistake. she doesn't want to lose her baby.
Yeah ive heard it can be detected in the baby's poop? Idk how that works lol. I dunno under what circumstances they test or if they do every time
She'll be alright. Just tell her never to go off of someone else's word.
They some times drug test the placenta, which would obviously come back positive. If she's worrying about a urine test, best thing is time. I think they say a month.
She's already mare that choice but tell her to just stop. My nephews mom just got cps involved because her newborns had weed in their system.
@junesmommy_15, she couldn't eat either but her friend told her that she did it her entire pregnancy and never had a problem. idk shes just trying to figure out how to clean her system from making a dumb choice that she regrets.
@kaitibabiie,
