Has anyone else had to have 10 days worth of injections after giving birth?! I am in shock! I was not prepared and they told me about it at my growth scan! Said i have to do them at home 😷

@emmaclark, yea but u couldve done them in yr thigh or bottom. the midwife shouldve known that! u poor thing having that in yr arm! x

really😮😮😮 when i was at home the midwife done it in my arm when she came over, she never said it even had to be tummy which i'm glad about because i had an emergency c section, i couldn't even touch my own stomach let alone get a needle in 😩😂 x @karenb1601

@emmaclark if u ever have them again u should really be giving them in yr tummy after pregnancy and yr thigh during as the drug is supposed to be injected into the fat just under the skin and there isnt enuf fat on yr arm. i give these every day at work as im a nurse x

Yes me had it for last 2 and will hve for 3 weeks after this one incase of blood clotts ect xx

i had those when i was on holiday while pregnant too for flying, i found the best place was at the top of my arm!(done it in my thigh while pregnant and found it bruised more and it was nippier) it's not sore though, just the thought of it😖 get someone else to do t for you if you can xx

@nessie95, no probs hun. i had 3 risk factors being my age my bmi and had to have forceps. didnt have any of that with my daughter so didnt need them x

@nessie95, no not everyone needs it. there are usually factors that increase yr risk of developing a clot. such as a bmi over 30, csection or an assisted delivery x

Had a nurse do mine while I was in hospital...then at home I put it in my thigh.. Squeeze your skin/muscle...and then slowly insert the needle...doesnt hurt...but the fluid going in stings a little xxx

Yes, I had to do it because I had blood transfusions...Helps stop the blood from clotting xx

Yeah I did, I had majority of mine in hospital as was in for 8 days so nurses did them but I had about 3 days worth to do myself at home! 😷 vile! my OH had to do them xxx

@pandapooooo, yea i did. theyre called clexane. they stop u getting blood clots x
