Scared I'm going to lose my job because next week i have to start NST twice a week. 45 mins away. I was wanting to work much longer than 32 weeks. Oh well, maybe my workplace will be understanding.. 😅

heck no to the black mold, low paying, shitty management company. you don't need that type of stress or environment

@jessijane84, I don't know. I'm just spitting out ideas for you. 🙈 Hopefully you'll be able to find a better job after you have the baby. It's hard to find a good job these days. Companies have the pick of the litter and they can be super picky about who they choose. I have a college degree and struggled to find a job last year. That's how I ended up in this sales position that about had me fired.

@jessijane84, yeah that's what sucks about companies sometimes. They don't give a shit and they will fire you for pregnancy related stuff but they'll disguise it as something else and sometimes it's hard to prove. I would also let your doctor know that you're working in an environment where there's black mold. They may not want you there anymore. Honestly though, as much as I hate to say this, since you don't have paid leave of any kind, it might be more beneficial for you to be fired and then make them pay you unemployment. If they refuse to pay you unemployment then you threaten them with a lawsuit. It's bullshit that you're working in a medically unsafe environment and then on top of that, you're high risk and they got you stressed about losing your job. Hell, at this point McDonalds would be a better job. 🙄🙄

ask your doctor to pull you out of work already. tell him you are stressing, your job can't tell you shit if you have a paper from your doctor. make it easier for yourself :)

@vanessarazo, i know they can't legally fire me because of the pregnancy but they do a lot of crap thats illegal. Its a run down sewing factory in podunk Oklahoma.. its just the stress of feeling obligated to be here. Ive been having contractions all day and my procardia isn't helping. But of course i just missed a few hrs yesterday for my 32wk appointment and have to miss on monday and Thursday for the NST. Ive been high risk from 14 wks so they're def aware of the situation, its that that dont give a shit, ya know. Its bs the stuff women in this country have to put up with when pregnant. thank you all for your input 😚 @bria @levismom @vanessarazo 😚

@jessijane84, ugh damn girl. I'm not going back to my company either. They were actually on the verge of firing me and so I took my leave early to ensure they couldn't. I won't be going back to my company either. I'll probably resign in Dec or Jan and then find a new job in March when my son is 4 months old. Good luck honey! It will all work out!

they can't fire you having to do with your pregnancy. they'd rather just pay you the hours you worked then have to pay you out if you sue. that's against the law! just let them know ahead of time your situation

@bria, @levismom yeh i think you're both right. When i lived in Kansas i worked at KU and had 12 wks leave and they paid me with my vacation and sick time. This place doesn't even have vacation or sick time. It blows and only pays $7.50 an hr to make flags and aprons by hand and with old sewing machines. So idk that i even wanna come back. But its a good way to ensure they can't fire me before i decide to leave.

@jessijane84, FMLA only guarantees that you have a job and it's good for 12 weeks. I wouldn't take full leave but use it for intermittent doc appts for sure. If you have vacation and sick that will be used to cover you during absences and they're required (I believe) to use that before you go to unpaid leave.

But - should they discriminate and intimidate which it sounds like they're doing already... you can file a formal complaint with the EEOC. They will go back and forth by mail with you (if your closest office is far, mine was) and then if they feel u have a right to sue you can request that letter. They'll send U all the info just google it. You have to document everything mentally or write it down, what they say, intimidation factors, etc. but I did it and I could have sued one of my jobs if I wanted to, but I chose not to because that wasn't my objective. Every situation is different though. So u just do what u have to. Also, if they start cutting ur hours and stuff .. report that. They have to reasonably accommodate. Even if your state laws don't cover you, a lot of times federal laws will.

@jessijane84, I would start your FMLA paperwork asap. Get a letter from your doctor. They can't fire you at that point. 👍🏼👍🏼 If they find some other reason it will be highly suspicious. Most companies won't risk it.

Oh yeah? That's fucking ridiculous. If I were you, I'd contact the local EEOC office. They handle all of that stuff. I went through it pregnant. The EEOC office will help you a lot.

@bria, yeah im hoping they act right. this place is unbelievable tho, last wk they started this "new policy" where if u miss more than 7 hrs a week the head guy in charge gets to decide if your "excuse" is legit enough to exuse your absence. I felt like they did it to intimate me, because there's less than 20 employees where i work.

They have to reasonably accommodate. If they fired you for a medical condition (pregnancy) you could sue them
