I'm 10 weeks today and last night I bought myself a Doppler on ebay🙈. I couldn't resist. I've actually wanted one from the day I found out but had to literally force myself to wait until now. Hopefully I'll get it by Wednesday.
Has anyone used one of these? Please share your experiences and any advice. Thanks.
had one from 12 weeks an angel sounds heard straight away. plenty of YouTube videos of what to listen for. you can dephier babies heartbeat from your own.. count the beats for 15 seconds and times by 4. that's your bpm baby is a lot faster than yours and normally ranges from 120 to 180 bpm
I have one but never managed to find the heartbeat and the midwives have always found it hard to find! Scan showed my placenta is at the front which can make it harder to find so don't panic if you can't find it! X
@mother_of_humans, is right...midwives dont recommend getting them :) I had a really good midwife...and at 36+5 she found it hard to find the heart beat. Due to babies position... I bought one because I wanted some of my family to hear the heart rate (as they weren't able to come to scans) I never used it as a reassurance thing....girls even if you can hear the heart rate...it doesnt necessarily mean the baby is fine. @ttcrainbowbaby xxx
i brought one of those they are brilliant, the heart beat sounds like a fast train or galloping horses that's how my midwife put it, don't worry about if you cant find it
@ttcrainbowbaby, I bought the same one u have ordered it came when I was 11 weeks and I found his heartbeat within a few minutes this has literally saved my life due to past miscarriages I was a nervous wreck I used it until I could feel him move around I've found his heartbeat every time xx
I agree @mother_of_humans I brought one and cause I couldn't find the heartbeat I was panicking so midwife told me there the worst things to have as sometimes the midwifes have trouble finding heartbeat xx
I have the same as @ttcrainbowbaby and struggled to find it at first. What I thought was the heartbeat turned out to be the 'surround sounds' 😂 Don't be disheartened if you don't get it straight away, it takes practice! As the baby gets bigger and you can feel where various body parts are, it's easier to guess where you might find the heartbeat! It's an amazing experience when it works x
@ttcrainbowbaby, I bought one when I was 13 weeks, I couldn't find heartbeat but partner found it straight away. We have the Angel sounds one 😘
@jodiec 🙈At all? Must've been the doppler. It gets easier to find the heartbeat later on right? Hopefully I don't have a problem.
I know I won't always find the heartbeat or ever really but I'm going into this with an open mind. If I don't find the heartbeat I won't stress about it but if I do I know I'll be very relieved and happy. IMO the pros outweigh the cons. As for women going to a&e worried for their baby, that's their prerogative. I truly believe better safe than sorry. I personally won't be running into a&e just based on not finding a heartbeat.
Its nice hearing about all of you who have successfully been able to find your baby's heartbeat. I hope I'm able to count myself among you guys soon.
