Hi ladies I need help/advice! I've asked on Ovia community but I was told to stop over reacting! I thought I'd ask on here because I've been told you're a lovely group of ladies! 💕

Basically, my ex took Emily over the weekend and dropped her back this morning, I noticed that he had gotten her ears pierced!!!! I flipped at him and he told me that he thought it'd look cute! He said that she didn't even cry! I shouted at him 'just because she didn't cry it doesn't mean it didn't hurt her'! I told him when she was born that she will NOT be getting her ears done until she is old enough to ask herself.

Now it feels like he has got them done to make her a 'fashion statement'. I really don't know what to do, I don't want to stop contact because funnily enough he is actually a good dad!

This has just pissed me off so much 😡😡😡

How can she think this is right 😡. I'm fuming at the fact that she says it's okay and there's more to worry about! What if she gains an infection? Shall I not worry? What if she rips it out in her sleep & her ear rips? Shall I not worry? What if she cries because it hurts? Shall I not worry? Inflicting pain for no reason is a good enough excuse to worry about the fact he went behind my back. If he asked I would've said no but at least he would have asked. Thankyou ladies @mother_of_humans @tg123456789 @natzie86 @sara-lou xxxx

its like me saying kid knapping a child for period of time off the other parent cause they are the father is ok. or me saying that a father hitting the childs mother is acceptable and to kick off over it is ott and making something out of nothing as the mother must have deserved the violence and the worry of child been taken...of course i know its not right but just to rile everyone ill say it.

Me and my oh have this 'debate' quite a lot. He wants to get our girls ears done (2&1) and I don't agree. Even though they are older than your baby I still don't agree. I'd go mad if he took our girls out and pierced their ears behind my back.

You are clueless and if you think this is an OK thing for a parent to do to their child without consenting then I feel bad for your children. If someone took me into town sat me down and pierced holes in my body I'd be bloody annoyed. Why is it OK to do it to a baby??? @harlie

Yeah you're definitely over reacting 🙄No of course you're not!!! You have every right to be annoyed at him. You made it clear you did not want them done until she can ask herself. I agree with you Hun, it's inflicting pain for no reason at all. Tbf I see them for the parents not the baby's. The parents want the kids to have them done - so they do it! I don't have anything against parents who get their their kids ears pierced but without permission? That's a piss take!

@carly_, It wasn't a responsible thing to do what with her being so little and hadn't he thought of infection etc? Even if he's a good Dad, and is good with her he was pretty senseless to do that to her and even the fact she could be allergic like my niece was. And without your permission. No, your in your right to feel as you do. x x

She's a child not a fashion statement! Cute bows, dresses etc yes but piercings at 3 months? He knew I didn't want them done - he's just gone behind my back. His family are fuming at him! I am not slating him I am being honest. & yeah I know hun, he could've asked! It's really annoying tbf, hate being stabbed in the back 😔xxx

I see where you are all coming from, but at the end of the day your ex should have asked for your permission before going ahead and doing it. Even he should have listened to you if you told him you wanted to wait till she was older. I think that 3 months is way too old to have their ears pierced. He should at least waited until she was one. Xx

I think you are all over reacting it's piercing..there's bigger things to be worrying about in life than a piercing😂 stop slating her dad and be thankful he's done something for her..if you don't consider him in your decisions why should he consider you? just because you're worried she won't like it when she's older I'm not being funny if she doesn't she just won't wear earrings it's that simple tbh

Over reacting?! How dare he! He had absolutely no right to do this without your input! I would go ballistic! The pure fact he went out to do this without your consent is sickening. He undermined your view in the subject and went ahead and did this. This isn't him buying some dress or toy, this is a piercing! Violating your rights as a mum! Things like this should be discussed! I'd be very angry and more so disappointed x @carly_ someone who tells you your over reacting when they created the issue is what narcissists do. Making you feel bad for something you never did wrong. It's wrong x bang out of order what he did. X

I told him I didn't want them done until she was old enough to ask! She might not like them when she's older. I hate the thought of inflicting pain on her for no reason! She had no say in it, which is what upsets me. I made it clear she was not to get them done. Yes it's his daughter - but I did not want them done. He should have asked not go behind my back.

Piercing another humans body parts , especially a baby who has no say in the matter, is a big deal. When parents are separated they should discuss these issues before getting it done. Also you don't know if she's done things without asking him either. I don't think it's a nice thing at all but an incredibly stupid selfish act.

harlie

but it's his daughter too..and you probably do things he doesn't agree with and I'm sure he doesn't have a go at you for it..it's a piercing he was doing a nice thing for his baby! you need to see it from his perspective too

I'd be fuming! I personally dislike babies having their ears pierced but that fact he's not asked before doing it isnt on. I'd be taking them out straight away and be having a very long and heated conversation with her Dad!

I'd be fuming!! no way is anyone doing that to my child without my consent!! I totally believe in waiting until they are old enough to decide for themselves. They do look cute on her I guess. When they heal (after 6 weeks) you can take them out and let the holes close xx

Definitely not over reacting! I'd be furious! I have pretty strong views on ear piercing on babies/young children which I won't express as I'd probably get a backlash but if my ex had done this to our baby I'd be taking the studs out of her ears so they heal up and she can ask when she's older to have them done and I'd be taking his head off his shoulders! Riles me right up! xx

Dad's FB Video!! Did anyone see that video a dad posted on his daughters FB page? He saw a post she made where she bashed her parents and cursed them, called them lazy and told them they should pay her for stuff she did around the house... So he called her out on it and put the video on her page!! Sorry if I missed a post already about this already, but I just saw the video and IT WAS AWESOME!!! Hahahhaa!

So I need your guys help. The dad to this baby didn't want to be here for 6months of the pregnancy and wants to be here now because he is changing and going to counseling. I told him he needs to prove himself that he wants to be here and be apart of our babies life. He's couldn't come to the appointment yesterday because he had training I told him that she is healthy and so am I. But what's getting me is that he never asked about my next appointment :( I don't know if he forgot I asked him. Maybe I am not emotional and scared still about letting him in. I just want him to try and be here as much as he can for her. I want her to know his voice before she comes out. Blah... I told him all of this.

So over this feeling! Ever since I've had ds, OH and I have fought my mother on not wanting to give ds a dummy just cause we don't like them and find he self soothes. For the past three times my mother has had him, she has gone against our rule and given him a dummy and of course I spoke to her about it (that's all my knowledge on how many times she's done it). On Sunday we celebrated my stepfathers birthday and due to OH working I had to do it alone which isn't the thing that bothered me. The thing that bothered me was no matter what I said regarding ds I wasn't listened to. I told my mother to sit behind ds if she was going to sit him up on the floor as he hasn't got the whole balance thing down pact but she didn't and then ds falls and starts crying cause he hurt himself, I picked him up and my mother just came and took him off me! I told her he can't forward face yet as he is below the shoulder line in order to forward face but they did anyway. I get it's her first grandchild and she's excited but I never got to share the news about ds's first tooth or his first attempt at crawling to the family because she already done it. Yes I know, I probably sound petty asf! I had to repeatedly ask my mother to take me and ds home as he was tired and close to the over tired stage. On the way home ds fell asleep, luckily I was sitting beside him and looked at him cause he had fallen asleep and had his head facing down so I quickly grabbed his head and held it up till we got home.
