Went to my baby's cardiology appointment today and the doctor was very nice. He has to go back on him s medicine that removes liquid from his lungs so he can breathe easier and eat easier so he doesn't burn so many calories trying to eat because he needs to get bigger and gain weight so he can have his open heart surgery in Boston children's hospital in December. And we have to give him more powder formula scoops in his formula so he gets more calories and hope it doesn't affect his intestines in a bad way.

@firsttimegypsymama, my daughter had open heart surgery at 5m old to close a large hole. We also fortified her milk to help her gain (it helped a little). She was born small and still is small, but it 100% healthy. Surgery is so scary but it was the best thing we could have done for her. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. Best of luck!

My son is 14 months tomorrow and we can hardly get him to eat solid foods on his own. We want to wean him off formula by 18 months and have been trying to get him to snack on small finger foods and he mainly just plays with it or throws it off his tray. Sometimes he will eat it if we give it to him but most of the time he shakes his head no. Any ideas or tips on how to get him more interested in eating? He will eat yogurt bites and cherrios on his own but that's about it.

I want to know if anyone added cereal or oatmeal to your baby's bottle. My little man gets lazy sometimes and doesn't want to eat his oatmeal so I give him his formula. He only drinks 6oz but that is not enough and he's hungry but won't drink more than 6oz per feeding so I was wondering if it is okay to put cereal/oatmeal in his bottle. What are your thoughts?

Just so mad at my husband before we moved he promised he would put our son to bed at night and get him his bottle. Then promised that on the mornings he doesn't work or the ones he works later he would feed him breakfast so I can have my relax time before having him all day long. Then every morning he is here he says he's not going to get him breakfast because he doesn't want to and sits there telling me to go make and feed our son breakfast. Then every time I remind him of his promise he rolls his eyes and gets butt hurt like wtf. You promised me these things I didn't make you and it makes me mad when you don't want to honor your word and then demand that I do it instead of at least asking me if I could. I feed my son his breakfast and now I'm eating mine in the kitchen because I'm just so irritated.
