This is the same argument all moms have anywhere! All I wanted to know was if you guys fed your babies oatmeal in a bottle.

We all know what we're supposed to do with our kids and what studies and theories to believe and which ones sound absurd. Again correlation doesn't mean causation. It doesn't matter what we do, what we believe or what we don't believe because our goal is to raise a strong and healthy baby. There are things that are obvious and unsafe but there are studies out there that don't make sense because the information they have is only the information that proves them right, I mean, why would they spend money and time with a study to have it fail?

We become moms and suddenly we are despicable human beings and everything we do is harmful for our baby, am I supposed to wrap my boy in bubble wrap and lock him in his room so he doesn't get hurt and let him sleep on the floor because sleeping in his crib, bouncer or car seat can cause SIDS? Am I supposed to not feed him at all because he might choke on everything he eats? We all do what is best for our babies but we dont know everything, it is a trial and error process.

I don't think it's right for other moms to come forward and say what they think to only get responses such as good luck or I hope your baby is not suffering. It doesn't sound right and it doesn't make you look good either and I am a 100% sure you wouldn't like someone else to insinuate you are abusing/neglecting your child and that you are extremely careless because you are trying hard enough and giving more than enough. I'm pretty sure we all have common sense and a strong instinct and we know what doesn't seem safe and what does and if it doesn't concord with your beliefs there is NO need to bring the other down.

@danad269 no, but you can do certain things to lower risks. Driving in a car? Wear an appropriate restraint.

@badadvicemom, is anything safe these days? Nope can't even go to school and be safe or church!

Just don’t give him a nipple that flows really fast, my children have never choked on oatmeal or baby food in a bottle but it just depends on the mother you know best

@maverickandjosiah060516 Right. I understand that if I decide to give him oatmeal in a bottle he might choke but he might choke with his formula as well and he does at times anyways.

My dr said it was perfectly fine to give food at 4 months so . Everyone has something different to say

I'm just looking for alternatives to give him oatmeal (since he already eats it and likes it) when he wants to eat but doesn't want to eat from the spoon or when I'm at work and his dad apparently doesn't have time to feed him. He is super hungry and fussy when he doesn't have oatmeal. So I wanted to know if someone did and how they did it.

If you believed every thing someone told you then you’d be lost. Obviously people in the old days did whatever they wanted and they didn’t have any guidance but they lived. My sons been having oatmeal in his bottle since he was 2m old. He’s now 6m and eats baby food and oatmeal in his bottle . Rice cereal has no nutritional value but the oatmeal does. They woman didn’t ask to be murdered over a question. Chill out. Say if you do or don’t and go on. Every mom is different, this app is supposed to be for moms to talk to other moms and see what they do not be fussed at and argued with.

@beemommyof3 And not because someone else did it and it didn't turn out okay means it's not okay. All babies are different.

@julisamarieg92 Same here, no need to judge or make bad remarks about other moms' decisions regarding their children. We're all going through constant changes in our lives. Being a mom is already hard enough.

@yashira.catalan true girl i never judge becuase i like to try new things wt my kids..im not the type to say oh no thats bad oh no thats not good ..i have 2 kids and another on the way ..maybe this bby wont like a few things my other kids like or maybe will b a little fattycakes who knows .

@julisamarieg92 I know right. We're all going through a trial and error process. It'd be nice to have a conversation with other moms about what worked for them and what didn't without the need to point out what the other is doing wrong and how their babies are going to die.

Exactly nobody in this world is a perfect mom we experiment different things see how it goes if it works it works if not try something else.. I mean we are all "doctors" on here apparently everybody knows whats best for ur bby lol

Both my kids are healthy my son is anout to b 6 and is skinny and tall..my daughter is 2 she is not over weight but is big for her age as in length doctors never told me my kids where ever underweight or overweight they are on track..back in the day my fam gave us anything and everything we all came out perfectly fine and healthy..everybaby is different but that is what worked for my kids

@yashira.catalan, I put cereal in my babies bottle. They use to do it all the time. Use to have bottles for foods. Everything is based on theories. My son was 20lbs at 4 months n formula didn't hold him. He is just fine to this day and isn't over weight at all

@julisamarieg92 Totally understand, every baby is different.

A baby's stomach is only so big. They're going to be hungry more often especially if they're going through a growth spurt.

@julisamarieg92 hope your children aren't sufferong from leaky gut, obesity and other digestive issues that you may be unaware of.

@yashira.catalan my 5 month old still only drinks 2oz and no solids at all. Also you should try to feed him with formula first then the food cuz milk needs to be their first source of protein before 1. Food before one is just for fun

@yashira.catalan right but he should always be getting formula first. Then if he's still hungry oatmeal or rice.

@badadvicemom I'm pretty sure he's ready because he eats it in the morning but if it's pass morning time he doesn't want it.

Girl i always did opposite wt what ppl and doctors told me becuase i never listen.. At 2 weeks old i already started puttin stage 1 bbyfood mixed in wt their bottles i always used the fruit ones or the sweet potato worked for them and bellies was full and was comatized lol

If he doesn't want to eat it, he may just not be ready for it.
