So I am just curious. If full term is 39+ weeks for a pregnancy, then my first son was full term at 39w 3d. So would my second son be considered early term for being born at 38w 4d or still full term? He came on his own and seems to be as healthy as a baby who was 40+ weeks, but I am wondering if he was still considered a little premature.

Oh ok. Early term is still term though so I guess that's good.

They changed it a few years back, but your son would be considered early term (37 weeks 0 days - 38 weeks 6 days, full term is 39 weeks 0 days - 40 weeks 6 days). For more info - ссылка

I think 38 weeks is full term because I personally have never seen an underdeveloped baby at 38 weeks, they are all fine!

I read that if it's after 38 weeks baby should be fine. My baby was born 39 weeks 4 days too and he came all On his owns, and he's healthy as can be.

37 weeks used to be full term but it was recently changed to 39 weeks as some 37 week old babies were in NICU for about a week for premature lungs. It's just crazy though because some babies are fine and some aren't.

According to my obgyn and the dr that delivered my child was 2 days short premature because he came at 36 weeks and 5 days if he would have waiting 2 more days and came when I was 37 weeks he would have been considered full term...

Hmm that's interesting. I guess he missed the mark by 3 days.

I believe that would still be considered premature.

My dr considers 37 weeks full term & says that the baby is ok to come anytime after 37 weeks so I’m listening to her 🤷🏼‍♀️
