I'm a first time mom I am due September20

I am wanting to breastfeed !

I've had people talk down on me for wanting to do so and telling me I'll give up because it's "weird"

I am having a lil boy and for some reason that is freaking people out that I want to feed my son ....

in that way.

anyways I'm just upset that so many people are trying to discourage me right now !!!

don't worry though I'll be going strong ;) proving them all wrong .

but has anyone else had this reaction???

Yes I did! My son and I are going almost 5 months strong with no signs of stopping! He has only ever had one bottle and it was breastmilk too! My family got over it quick when he got really sick and they heard the doctor say that breastmilk saved his life.

yesss I have seen videos too ! personally if I see someone breastfeeding in public I want to hug them ! it's an inspiration you don't see it very often

People are ok with seeing women with bikinis but when a mother breastfeed is disgusting?? I seen a video on FaceBook on how people reacted to a mother breastfeeding and it pissed me off. Breastfeeding your child is a beautiful thing. Do you girl

people really are disgusting if they are thinking of it in that manner !!

lol I am sure the nurses are completely used to that !

I am so excited to breastfeed <3 I have lots of help waiting if I have any troubles as well :)

My mom is all over the place on this. She's proud I'm breastfeeding my boys but at the same time makes comments about me not being bashful about whipping my breasts out in front of ppl. By ppl I'm talking about the nurses in the NICU lol. Nursing twins, I have found, is a lot less discrete than nursing one. I nurse all my babies long term and I can tell you that the only one feeling weird is the person making the negative comment so just let them get over it

Immaturity...i personally think breastfeeding is the healthiest feeding for a newborn baby! Im definitely going to breastfeed my daughter when shes born! I wouldn't let them get to ya! Thats your son and you want him to be healthy & i think breastfeeding is the PERFECT START!!!

Yes you will get a lot of negativety from people as I see it if nursing my son is weird and gross then only thing thats gross about it is why are you thinking of a child in that way. People try to sexualize it which is disgusting on their part. There is nothing weird or wrong about it. My son will be a year in November and people are now talking about how its wrong to nurse after a year which is totally false

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
