So I'm late with my #laborstory so here goes:

November 20, 2011 I went to the hospital at 2 in the morning to be induced. When they hooked me up to my IV, it caused my blood pressure to plummet and I had to be tilted back on my head to get it to go back up. I was on petocin until about 7 PM that night, wasn't progressing so they stopped the petocin and allowed me to eat. Around 4 AM the next morning, they started the petocin again, checked my dilation and vitals every hour on the hour. I was on petocin all day 11/21. On 11/22, I still had only dilated to 4 cm. I refused to be sent home without having my baby. I wasn't feeling any contractions but I still got an epidural around 2 that afternoon. Around 3 that afternoon, they broke my water to see if it would help me dilate any. 30 minutes later, my OB/GYN came in and discovered I had a double amniotic sac, which I later found out meant I had been pregnant with twins but miscarried one during the first 8 weeks of pregnancy, so she broke my second bag. Around 4 I opted for a c section because at this point I was still only 4 cm dilated and wasn't progressing any. At 5 I was rolled in to the OR and at 5:20 PM my daughter was born 7.13 lbs 22 inches long. I was in recovery for about 2 hours before I woke up and was taken to post partum. I didn't get to hold my baby until about 6 hours after she was born. All in all I was in labor for 63 hours total. And I would do it all again.

Thankfully, this time I won't have to. I'm having a scheduled c section 9/7 for my second daughter.
