That is good she is picking up weight. My daughter was only 6 pounds at her 4 month check up she almost 13 pounds. @jessicarose0602 she can fit 6 to 9 month clothes now. She has chunky legs. Breastfeeding is very time consuming. Formula is so much easier. At the end of the day our babies are getting bigger and healthy.

I didn't make enough milk anyway @madilynn16 and what little I had didn't come in til like day 3 or 4. my daughter was only 5 pounds at birth and the doctor said don't put her in direct sunlight in just a diaper in the apartment or she may get too cold. they didn't put my daughter under the uv light.. but I wish they would have. either way, my daughter was 9 lbs 2 oz at her 2 month check up, so she's growing like she should. I understand some ladies have different views on formula feedings, but it was best for my daughter and I so that's what I decided. ☺

Oh okay. My daughter had to go under the uv lights and get her blood checked two to three times a week. I felt so bad for her. Her jaundice levels were at 18.@liamisaiah, As long as your baby is healthy doesn't make how they eat.

my son was hospitalized and I want making any milk yet so yes at the time he needed formula. he want eating and had no wet diapers. @madilynn16

My daughter had jaundice the first month of her life. The doctors tried to convince me give formula but I refused and kept breastfeeding her. I just took her out to the sun very day. There are different types of jaundice. Some jaundice comes from nursing. My daughter has never had formula. Doctors only tell you supplement with formula to get them to poop more because it comes out in there poop. That what the doctor told me. @liamisaiah , @jessicarose0602

@hellosweetie The cans are the same size you get from the stores. They provide formula until your child is 1.

I literally get 10 cans of formula for my daughter every month through wic and she has to be on Similac alimentum and it's soooo expensive. I couldn't breastfeed because I didn't produce enough milk anyway.. that and she was jaundice so bad.. I was told if I breastfed it would have only made it worse.. ugh.

7 cans of formula a month here I'm California, if breastfed up to 68 jars of baby food a month plus milk, eggs, cereal, yogurt, bread and more @hellosweetie

@andrewsmommy, WIC only pays for a small portion of formula, not all of it. And extra food is given to breastfeeding moms, so both sides get a little bit of help.

I kept this app because I have managed to help some moms here and educate others. Maybe I want to stay around to continue to help, but the ignorance here is unmatchable. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Btw you cannot argue with science. Breast milk is the healthier option. The WHO recognizes donor milk as the best second option after breastfeeding, and formula as the THIRD best option. This is for health reasons, not to judge moms and tell them they are wrong for choosing formula. Personally I believe a fed child is best but if you are willing and able breastmilk is the healthiest option, you can't argue with that. So again I say, breastfeeding may not be the best option for you or others, but it does not take away from the fact that breastmilk is the healthiest option. @mommaofmrkj2014

Oh Lord I am done.....I never preached "breast is best" or "no mom should go back to work. Y'all need to get over yourselves seriously all I said was that brrastfeeding is "free" because if you are able to you do not need to spend any money on breastfeeding, whereas if you are to formula feed you ALWAYS have to spend money on that no matter if you are away from baby or not. I'm just saying, there are other options it doesn't have to cost a fortune whereas formula will ALWAYS cost no matter if you work or not. That was my point. And I have done the math, we would be paying MORE for me to go to work (on daycare, pumping equipment and formula as I said) than for me to stay so we chose to let me stay.

If you are a working mom pumping isn't optional unless you want to stop breastfeeding. so yes not everyone will spend as much but this is particularly targeted towards how much you would be spending if you do have to be away from your child @hellosweetie

I agree with everything you said besides that breastfeeding costs an arm and a leg...not every mom wants to or can even pump, personally my daughter never once accepted a bottle so we never got a pump, I wish I could go back to work but it works for us and although we struggle it is cheaper than daycare and pumping equipment and formula to supplement when I can't pump. Breastfeeding doesn't HAVE to cost an arm and a leg whereas formula has to be bought if you choose or have to go that route...
