Going to write a list of the pros and cons of c-sections vs gentle inductions. Any suggestions/opinions?
*keep in mind that I'm having my son early due to complications and inconsistent dips in his heart rate. I'm not sure if I want to be induced, have the contractions, and risk his heart rate dropping too low and have to be rushed to have an emergency c-section vs having a planned steady and safe c-section. I also feel like besides the potential risks, an induction can have a lot of benefits...which is why I'm asking for help on the goods and bads of both*
@eegrnr, we will all be here waiting for your happy update with the beautiful new baby!!!
@sk216 @ashalay88 @tayek @mommarodey @kathy218 thank you ladies for your inputs!! I'm thinking I'm gonna go that route
I'm going to be really honest if ur babies heart drops already. I wouldn't risk it. I wouldn't try vaginal or being induced. I would schedule a C- section its safer for you & the baby. & the only reason why I'm telling you this its bc I didn't have the opportunity to choose.. My babies heart beat was dropping so low so many times while I was in labor and until they saw it kept dropping with every contraction I was having they rushed me to have an emergency c- section & it was the most scariestexperience of my life.I was crying uncontrollably and not to mention that if you risk it you risk to feel the whole c section procedures. I wasn't numb enough I felt them cut me and stuff bc they didn't let the drugs settle in bc the baby needed to be out at that moment. So for that reason please choose wisely. For the safety of ur baby & ur self. I know c sections are risky but its riskier to see ur baby heart beat drop and then even drop and not come back up.....
I would say schedule the c section. I was in labor for 14 hours then it was time to push but baby girl had swallowed meconium and was not dropping enough in to my pelvis, as well she flipped over and was posterior. The C section was my choice to get her out safely and quickly. Even so, she had to go to the NICU. If I would have had that option as soon as we knew she had swallowed meconium, I would have had the C section right then rather than prolonging it. Since you know there are some risks, I say follow your gut and do what's in the best interest of your baby, along with your doctor's professional opinion.
@eegrnr, I think I would go for the scheduled cesarean. Stress on you equals stress on the baby.
I agree with sk216. Labor can be stressful and you don't want to risk it.
@tayek thank you 😊😊😊
