Before I had my daughter I used to secretly snigger to myself when people said 'I've got a bad back cos I got an epidural' and think it was nonsense. Now 8 months down the line and my backs constantly sore. I had a last minute spinal injection. I don't know if this is the cause or if it's just the rough and tumble of carrying buggies, baby, car seat etc.. being a mum lol. What do you ladies think? 😕😮
Yeah I get what you mean! You have experienced the natural labour so this time round wanted to have pain relief. I can't obviously say the spinal is what has given me this bad back but I'm only 23, not overweight or anything like that. I can't see any other reason. Not sure if it's worth the risk tho 😕😅😀 @jodieiokie xx
This post makes me even more determined not to get an epidural... I screamed for one at 2cm with my first but didn't end up getting one. This time I keep thinking, I've done it before without so might just have one this time as I've already experienced it without... I do not fancy having a bad back a year down the line though so I think I'll be avoiding it! 😆 xx @byoungx @jod1303 @jodiec
My midwife said the same Jody! @jod1303 so I didn't want to be acting like a hypecondriact lol 🙈. But then again my midwife laughed in my face when I asked about interventions at birth and she told me it would be highly unlikely. I ended up with forceps and had no clue what was going on 😅😅!! Think I know that's the cause now if its happened to other ladies too xx
Oh god really?! So maby there is some truth in it? I went and spent £500 on a memory foam mattress for my bed, thinking the mattress was the problem.. obviously not. Did it feel like the bottom of your back was snapping if you moved to much or stood up too quick? Can't believe it didn't even work for you and youv suffered all that 😅. I got to pushing stage without pain relief (not through choice I got to hospital 10cm dilated lol) and then baby got stuck and I had to get a spinal. So tbh I could have done without it and not have to suffer now lol! 😑😅 @jodiec xx
midwife swore to me its bullshite about epidural givin bad backs well she talks bullshite i had 2 put in wrong ended in spinal block and get awful back since. worse in winter i found. safe to say they are not puttin any needle near my backthis timexx
The epidural ruined my back I ended up paying for 10 physio sessions and it's pretty much brand new now ☺️ sitting in the car for longer then 5 mins used to be a struggle sleeping was difficult physio was the best thing I done I'm adamant I will never have one again especially since it never worked the first time anyway 🙈🙈🙈 xx
@duchess92, really? Its an absoloute joke! no one tells you about all this x
