letting my nipples air out, I've had some bleeding on one nipple & rawness on both. I've been scared to let Thalia eat straight from my breast because of the bleeding and because they hurt so bad anyway, being that they are so full but I have been pumping a bit from the one that hasn't bleed.. can't wait to get my nipples right because I love nursing her & don't want her formula intake to be greater than her breast milk intake like it is right now. I really love breast feeding & I really don't want to have to stop!

They were called lanisohl soothie gel pads. you just stick em right on after nursing and it's heaven. It helps so much at first. The nipple shield should be okay for a few days while you heal but try only using them at every other feeding instead of just stopping them all together. Also lanolin cream and coconut oil are awesome for cracked and sore nips.

its an ointment you put on your nipples as often as you want! you can get it at walmart...target...anywhere!

no I don't & I totally forgot about nipple shields but I'm worried she won't latch with me using them since she's done so well without it so far. @showersoverflowers

her latch could be wrong. that's what happened with my first.. with this one, not happening at all.
