To moms who had their labor induced:
not really sure if it's a good thing that I'm curious about how it's done. I just want to know your experience with labor induction.
it was awful . I couldn't get up for 3 days . I had to have a catheter which hurt so bad , they didn't even takle it out when I started pushing which made it rip my pee hole... putting the meds in side me hurt and hurt even worse taking it out. I wish I could've just went on my own. it might have been worse for me where I was only 37 weeks so my body really wasn't ready but I had preeclampsia so I had to do . the worse part was not getting up it made me so uncomfortable.
i loved mine, it was the easiest out of the 3 I've had so far, went in, they started pitocin, i had my epidural, slept until it was time to push
First time I went in before midnight, got Cytotec to ripen my cervix, then my OB broke my water and started pitocin. Contractions got intense enough that I caved for the epidural, which didn't work like it was supposed to, and it only numbed my abdomen and made it hard to know when to push. Second time I was already dilated so I just came in that morning for pitocin, and my OB broke my water after noon. Baby's heart rate started dropping, and after my nurse repositioned me to help baby, the contractions got awful. Epidural worked, but didn't have it long before I pushed lol. Personally, I didn't like being induced either time. It wasn't terrible, but my hospital required you to be connected to everything constantly. So between not being able to move, and extra intense contractions from the pitocin, I don't recommend it unless necessary.
