When I misscarriaged at 8 weeks last year I didn't need the D & C. It depends how far along you .. and I had a choice of taking the vaginal pill, D &C, and or letting it happen naturally. Every body is different and I didn't want surgery personally and didn't want to let it happen naturally. So I took the pills.
That's about how often I was changing them. Five seems a bit much though. You could google it, but I think they say as long as you're not soaking through more than one or two pads in an hour you're okay. It should pass love, it'll just take patience. Try to get some rest. ❤️ I stayed in bed for a few days, then started going on light jogs every other day, and that helped get things moving out of my system again. Just listen to your body, it knows what to do.
Also, once you get back into the swing of things and your body is back to normal, it is easier to concieve. After I bled everything out and had another period we started trying again. That first cycle I don't think my body was quite recovered, but the one after I got pregnant again.
And trust me, I know how scary it is to risk putting yourself through it again. But the most wonderful things in life don't usually come easy. Love comes with heartache often. I had many mixed tears when I found out I was pregnant again. I was worried, but the moment I heard this baby's heartbeat I started allowing myself to feel excitement again and I do my best not to stress too much.
@kiwi314, I was 9 weeks. I don't know what too much bleeding looks like. I've been changing pads every hour. But the second hospital told me if I fill 5 pads in an hour, that's too much. So I'm not really sure
@savana_c, I had two doctors opinions because I had to go to tell different hospitals. They said it'll pass. They also said there was no point in doing a D&C because when they did the ultrasound at the second hospital, there wasn't much that they'd have to clean out. They just told me to let it pass naturally.
How far along were you? It took me around 4 days to pass the gestational sack at almost 12wks (I had a blighted ovum), and I bled for a few days after and spotted on and off for a while. And even my next period was different, like it was getting rid of anything left over. Our bodies are amazing at taking care of themselves, so as long as you're not bleeding too much and your doctor thinks its ok, you are probably fine, it just takes time. You could always try and get a second opinion though.
