anyone lived far away from a hospital while pregnant? I currently live 40 minutes away from the closest hospital. I live in the mountains and I was curious to if you guys made it there.
Ladies having hospital births. How far away do you guys live from the hospital you are planning to give birth at. I live 40 mins ( on a good day) away from the hospital I'm due to give birth at in just over 2 weeks and it's making me anxious
I sure did cry on the way to the hospital thinking about being away from my walker man 😓
How far is your delivery hospital from where you live? Mines about 20-25 minutes away. 😊

Considering how bad the traffic is here now i think maybe if you feel like its almost time drive down and maybe get a little motel/hotel for the night and see if you progress that way if its time youre closer and will make it there

My brother and SIL lived two hours from their hospital when they had my niece. They left when she started having contractions 10 minutes apart and made it there on time 😊

i got induced and i lived about 45 miles from the nearest town thats not counting the time it takes to get past all the red lights and across town lol. it works better if u have a scheduled induction but hey if ur water breaks then put the blinkers on and call the cops to let them know ur having a baby and give details about what car ur driving so that away they no not to pull u over or if a cop can meet u at a certain point to escort u the rest of the way

@missliss, oh man she had to sit in the car for 2 hours in labor.@brudd330, both great ideas. I'm going to talk to my doctor about that option next time I see her. thanks. @joceyyyy a hotel is def. an idea! thanks

The hospital I deliver at is 45 minutes away if traffic is good, they're currently doing construction so it's more like an hour and half away

@ramenmami, I know! It was her first too so she hadn't experienced the pain before. She's a tough cookie lol I'd be dying

try living four hours and a ferry ride from your nearest hospital. now THAT is far. we lived on Ocracoke island, NC. only way off is by ferry and that's an hour boat ride then 3 hours to the nearest hospital up the coast.

i lived 45 minutes from the hospital. bc of thr distance my ob scheduled an induction at 39 weeks. i was 30 minutes away when i went into labor and still managed to get there. you SHOULD make it, if its just contractions. i got lucky snd by thr time they put me in a bed, and checked my cervix 3 times, my water broke. but id ask about an induction a few days before your due date, or find a little hotel for a few days before your due date.
