Talked to the doctor today about my Tuesday appointment.. It's going to be three hours long and they're going to do my hour glucose test. Along with my blood work, vaginal ultrasound, and tummy ultrasound. Sooo, I was told I don't have to fast and to bring water and a snack. How was your first glucose test? And what do I have to do?

Thank you ladies! I plan to eat some eggs and drink water before the appointment and then afterwards I'll drink water. I really hope there is no sign of diabetes. My fiancé has them in his family as well. Thank you all for the luck. 😊 @answeredprayer16 @candidbabex @nesh

Once you drink it you can't eat/drink anything for the next hour... It didn't have the best taste but the hour went by fairly quick and I tried to eat at least an hour before but I only ate boiled eggs and water

I think its ridiculous to give it more than once if you pass the first time with no problem. Maybe every state is different. @candidbabex

that's weird in general to me because I've never heard of them giving you the drink prior..I had to drink it right there in front of them. @candidbabex

....I would call them again and talk to somebody else. That's what sucks about first pregnancies, you don't really know what you're doing, just winging it, I'm doing the same thing believe me lol but a glucose test isn't a screening. its to see how your body breaks down sugar. For my first appointment, it was a pap smear (go ahead and shave and all😂) then a vaginal ultrasound (I was also 11weeks at my first one) a breast exam and questions regarding family medical history. Apparently every place is different for whatever reason because I was deffinetly told I could not drink anything even water during that hour of the glucose test. I didn't eat anything passed 11pm the night before either and I passed and she said everything was perfect. BUT I would call your drs office just to make sure first..

I have diabetes in my family as well so maybe that's what it is. I'm going to be 12 weeks and a day on the day of my appointment. I didn't think it was that big of a deal either lol it just scares me like what if I don't pass it or something. And it's at 7:30 am but if I don't eat anything then I throw up continuously.

I'm going off of what the doctor told me on the phone. My appointment is going to take three hours and an hour of that will be a glucose test. I don't know if it's a screening or me actually drinking that stuff but I was told that that was what they were going to do along with the norm of my ultrasounds and what not. This is my first pregnancy so trust me, I'm just as lost and confused as everyone else.
