Dental lesson!!
I chose this picture to share with y'all because I've been telling my mom for a while now to get my little sister in to the dentist for her first visit because it looks like she could be developing cavities. They looked exactly like this..
She called me this morning crying her eyes out because the dentist told her that all four top front teeth with need to be removed because of decay. (I am not a dentist) but I told her to go to a pediatric office instead to get another opinion and see if the teeth are salvageable enough to at least put caps on instead of pulling them..
Anyways, please chose a pediatric dentist to take your kiddos to and do your research before choosing one. Kids need to start seeing a dentist by their first birthday or when they have 8 teeth to get a cleaning. The earlier the better to keep them in a positive mood when going to the dentist. DO NOT use the words shot or needles.
& lastly, by the time your child is about 18 months, they need to slowly start being weened off a milk bottle to bed. Milk and juice to bed are the #1 causes of decay in children. They both have sugar in them (yes even milk) and will sit on their teeth overnight and cause the decay. Start by diluting the milk with water a little at a time, if your child falls asleep with a milk bottle, take a warm wash cloth and wipe the teeth down, this won't solve it, but it'll help slow down the process until the child is taking absolutely nothing to bed but water.
I've worked as a pediatric dental assistant for two yrs. that's where my information comes from 😁
