Anyone been in a position where ur job role has changed and therefore you have to look for a new one while on mat leave. My boss has informed me that when I go on mat leave their requirements are changing and unfortunately I can't carry on with them. She said she's still going to obviously pay me mat leave but I'm just wondering if it's for the full mat leave length or just until she wants to. I won't know until I give her my certificate in a few weeks time but it has left me a bit worried.

His her job to employ somebody for your mat period only. And provide you with similar hours. So I'd speak to cab

I can take the baby, but I think if I do this then I will have to take a wage drop. It's so hard when you're working for just one person, but they can't tell you that as the role is changing you don't have a job. They should be looking for a Saturday babysitter. No job can add extra days and expect you to work it as that's no my per your contract. You are well within your rights to go back to that job role.

@emmaelaine, wow that's a lot of children! Would they be ok for you to take baby though if u do choose to come back? I was willing to come back after mat leave but as my role is changing on the same month as I'm leaving,she said that she needs someone for more days including Saturdays straight away so hence why I can't come back. The role ends completely come September next year as the boys are going to nursery full time x

I am in the same situation @missy84 I'm a private nanny & they need someone straight away when I'm on mat leave & then after too. It will be difficult for me to take baby with me after mat leave as I look after 4 kids (5,7,10,12 years) when you add a baby into that it's going to be so hard. I don't know whether to ride out maternity leave or just tell them now that I don't think I will be able to return x

You need to speak to cab and get advice I think.

@suzie80, there isn't another role. I'm a private nanny and the family demands are changing from September which is when I go on mat leave so there is nothing else that can be done😕

The role is changing as soon as I start mat leave as mum is starting college so they need more days and weekends. I won't be able to do it any longer as I can't bring baby with me (I'm a nanny) xx

I haven't been in this position but this might help you;

I actually thought they couldn't do it and had to offer you an alternative role if yours is no longer available when you return.

Perhaps give Citizens Advice a call? They will know the ins and outs hun xx

I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

lillyb Good job giving ur self a break we all need them. See if maybe she will nurse
delete____ I have to commend you for stepping away, momma!! Everyone reacts to a child screaming differently and
imisssleep123456789 Ugh I remember those days. With both kids I decided to always top them off with formula.
