💬 I was 38 weeks & 2 days when my beautiful girl decided to come. It was at 12:30am when I got my first contraction. I try taking a bath to be sure I was contracting & it wasn't Braxton hicks. When I realize how frequent the pain was coming I knew that it was the day she was coming. I called the hospital after two hours of contracting & I was told to call back in another two hours to be sure I was contracting. I lasted a hour & half when I decided to go to the hospital. When I got there I was 3cm 😩 I waited for a room to become available & when that happen I finally was able to get my epidural which I was grateful for lol when they checked me again I was 8 cm & was patiently waiting for the doctor to tell me I was ready. After hours of waiting I finally was able to push & on May 10 at 2:27pm Skylar Arianna Khadu was born. She weigh 6 pounds & was 19 1/2 inches long. I am beyond grateful that I had a good delivery & my daughter is with me here today 💗
💬My water broke in my doctors office at 930 AM May 23rd. My midwife sent me up to the hospital to be admitted. I got to the hospital and was 1 cm dilated. Then we played the waiting game. I was planning on having a natural water birth, but I had to get to 4 cm to get in the tub. Six hours had passed and I was still at 1 cm, so they decided to start me on pitocin, ruling out my water birth, but I was still determined to labor naturally. Four more hours passed and I was at 2 cm finally! Then the nurses discovered my water bag didn't fully break. It was still in tact at the bottom. My midwife had to come in to break it the rest of the way. It went EVERYWHERE! So gross! After that, I was checked for cervical change every 2 hours. After seven more hours I was only at 4 cm and I finally asked for an epidural. The pain was unbearable! Since I'm allergic to narcotics they could only give me a lidocaine epidural and had to make a special solution for it in the pharmacy. Unfortunately the pharmacist on staff wasn't aware of the situation and it took 1 1/2 hours to get me my epidural. About an hour after the epidural I was checked again. I was still stuck at 4 cm but something far more frightening was found out. At some point in the previous 2 hours my daughters umbilical cord had become lodged between my cervix and her head and it was cutting off her blood flow. They immediately prepped me for an emergency c section! My biggest fear. After an hour in surgery and an hour in recovery I finally got to meet the girl of my dreams. She was perfect in every way. The doctors told me the cord was wrapped around her neck 3 times, and if I would have dilated one more cm in the delivery room she wouldn't have made it because her blood supply would have gotten cut off completely! She came at 4:06 AM May 24th, weighing 8 lbs 1 oz and 20 1/2 inches long! I'm so thankful for this little miracle. All the pain was worth her 💜
💬 I had a lot of early labor signs with my son. A lot of painful Braxton Hicks starting at 23 weeks. The whole 'more than four BH contractions in an hour' never applied to me. I would get up to ten, so I was at L&D quite often. At 35 weeks and 6 days, my friend came over and dropped off the bassinet she had bought for us. (This was around 8 am) At 8:25 am, my water broke. I knew exactly what it was but didn't have a bag packed or anything, plus I was home alone since my husband was driving his mom to a dr appt that was over an hour away. I was actually super calm. I texted my mom the humor I was finding in trying to get a new pad on while I was continuously leaking fluids. I called my husband and told him to turn around and come back since my water broke. Then I called the hospital to let them know I was coming. After driving myself to the hospital, I tried not to be embarrassed waddling around in my nightgown while holding a bright blue towel between my legs as I checked in. The contractions didn't start until after I got to the hospital. I got some IV pain medication while in the whirlpool tub, which was fun while it lasted.
💬By then my husband had showed up (with his mom) and my mom came over on her lunch break. My dad stopped by with some flowers and then my brother in law and sister in law showed up. (Not exactly all who I pictured being there). At 5 cm, I opted for the epidural. The angle kept going in wrong and I ended up getting stabbed like eight times, but I only felt one more contraction after I got it. After that, I just wanted to sleep. But I can't sleep if I can hear voices and with everyone in the room it was difficult. I even had ear plugs since I knew I would want to sleep, but they didn't help. I was going to yell at everyone to get out when my dr came in and checked me. I was at 9 cm! After that u was too excited to sleep. My mom was back by then and within an hour, i could tell it was time. They gave me a glove and let me feel his head when I asked, which was pretty cool. And then it was time to push. I only had maybe 8 contractions before he came out at 7:39 pm, his hand over his face like he was blocking a camera flash. His pose resulted in a second degree tear but I didn't care. They placed him on my stomach since his cord was too short to reach my chest and after a minute, my husband cut the cord. We did immediate skin to skin and delayed cord clamping. He was nursing within 15 minutes. I held him for nearly an hour and a half before I let them take him over to be weighed and measured. 6 lb 14 oz and 18 1/4 inches long. He had so much hair and was super fuzzy since he was so early. He had pooped in the womb, but didn't breathe any of it in. He was perfectly healthy. They kept him an extra night to be monitored (and since our nursery at home wasn't set up). We didn't get any pictures of right when he was born or of me holding him for the first time. I'm not sure if I'll regret that. So, my birth story wasn't exactly as I had planned, but they never are. And Joshua José is perfect even if my plan wasn't.
💬 I was at 41 weeks when my doctor decided to induce me. 2 weeks before my due date, I got a pupps rash on my belly. It was super itchy and uncomfortable. Needless to say lots of sleepless nights. I was induced on a Monday morning. Everything was going well. I got my first epidural a few hours into labor. It worked for about an hour. I started to feel all my contractions on my right side. We opted for a second epidural which also failed. Meanwhile, it was taking me forever to dilate and I was not producing much urine. I contracted all night, but I couldn't get passed 9 cm. My baby was pressing on my bladder so the doctors told me they needed to do a c section or my kidneys would start to fail. They prepped me for surgery and as they got started, the more they made the incision, the more I could feel. Turns out since my second epidural failed, the medicine they gave me wasn't working. I had to be completely knocked out and missed my daughter coming into this world. The picture below is when I finally got to see my daughter for the first time about 2 hours after she was born. She had a rough time coming into this world but I wouldn't change a thing. She is my reason for everything I do
💬 My 4th .. 38 weeks when my water broke after being dilated and defacing since 34 weeks. I was admitted at 230pm on 4/12, had contractions but nothing uncomfortable. at 945 my contractions finally felt strong to me and I was almost fully dilated and effaced. the nurse called in the doctor at just about the time I needed to push he arrived. I really had to stop my self from pushing until he got there. started pushing but had to stop so doctor could unwrap her cord from her neck. after a couple of pushes I got to grab her and pull her up. we did skin to skin, and the breast crawl. she was latched and nursing within 45 min. here is one of my favorite pictures and you can see my video here...(you have to click on the picture to see the full thing) ссылка Birth.mp4?dl=0

💬 I had started labor with my son at 27wks. I managed to keep him in till 36wks. when my water broke at 8pm Saturday night. I went to the hospital they told me it didn't break.(which it had) and then checked to see if I was dilated I was at 2cm. I got sent home... all night Saturday I was up changing my pad cause my water had broken and I got sent home. Sunday I went to church I was having contractions like crazy by then. I waited till after church and finally went back. at 1:30 Sunday. they checked me again and they said my water was broken and I told them it had been broken since I came in last night. well because it was broken for so long I was on antibiotics so that my son would get a blood infections. I wasn't getting checked very often at all so finally at 3am Monday I felt like I need to push badly I yelled for my nurse to come check me and I was at 10cm. while I was pushing we lost his heart beat slowly. they flipped me onto all fours and I finished pushing him out that way at 3:40 am Monday morning my son was born weighting 6lbs 5oz. 18.5 inches long!❤️
By 39 weeks and 7 days, I had been dilated at 3cm for a week an started having contractions on Thursday may 12th at 8pm I went in to the hospital they admitted me waited a hour and checked me I was still at 3 so my doctor told them to send me home. I was depressed because that was going to be my second time going home. I started to cry and the nurse allowed me to wait another hour. After that hour I had dilated to 4 so I made progress which then they could keep me, I was so happy I felt like my baby had felt how sad I was. That whole day I felt as though I had too poop so right before switching into my labor room I used that bathroom an after my BM my contractions got stronger and so much more painful it went from a 6 to a 8 writhing minutes. Once I got into my labor took I had to wait to get my epidural until I had finished signing papers. Once I got my epidural it helped so much, I couldn't even feel my contractions. After about 3 hours I had dilated to 5, another 4 hours passed then I was at 6. My water was still intake so once I got to 7 my doctor manually broke my water. By 10am may 13 I started to push, I had to get my baby past my pelvis bone before I could start pushing him out, after pushing for about 35 minutes. It was time to get my baby out, by that time my epidural was just starting to wear off. During my labor pushing wasn't the hard part but the curling of my back while trying to push was the most painful it felt as though someone was breaking my spine in half. After about 20 min of pushing they had to give me a episiotomy they cut me twice. An I pushed about another 10 min an my 7lb 4oz baby was finally here at 11:59 am may 13. He came out with very low oxygen an they had to give him oxygen in the baby nursery. Once they took him from me none of the doctors would answer my questions whether he was ok. The pain was excruciating after they took out the after birth and sewed me up, I started shaking. My teeth were even chattering. They had to give me some strong medicine, it helped with the pain but it also put me straight to sleep. I slept for a little over and hour I believe an they let me go to the nursery to see my baby by then his oxygen level was up and he was doing just fine. Now my baby is a month old and an 10lbs he is incredible an I love him more than anything!!
💬My first daughter (and currently only child) was an amazing, all natural birth! 40 weeks 4 days early labor contractions started, we got check out because I was having bloody show and wasn't sure if my waters were leaking, and sent home at 3.5cm dilated. I spent the night with mild contractions while hubby went into work thinking that it would take a while to enter active labor...come 2am at 40 weeks 5 days my water broke as I got up to pee with a karate kick from baby girl and a POP lol hubby rushes home from work with me on the phone the whole time, DEFINITELY in active labor now! We finally get to the hospital around 3am, starting to get checked in and at 4cm dilated...hubby goes out to park the car finally while the nurse continues to ask me questions, and that's when I start feeling the urge to push. The nurse tells me I can't be fully dilated yet after less than an hour of laboring and to resist the urge, I tell her I can because I was experiencing the ejection reflex where my body did the pushing during each contraction and I had no control...she tries talking me into an epidural to help me relax, and I almost gave in despite not wanting any medications...hubby comes back in and is informed of what's going on, and the nurse decides to check me before the guy with the big nasty needle came in lol sure enough and to her surprise, I was fully dilated and baby girl was moving down! She had me push a couple times and then told me to resist until the doctor came...it was agony. Holding it was harder than anything and hurt worse than pushing!!! Finally the doctor rushes in and we resume pushing, and she despite trying to go slow I got two 2nd degree tears for my effort 😑 but I didn't care at the time, my sweet baby Melody Piper was born at 4:32am weighing 7lbs 7oz and 20 inches long, completely natural! And only 1.5 hours of active labor (from showing up at the hospital) to birth!!! She latched as soon as the doctor was done stitching me up (prob 20 mins?) and now she is 10 days away from being 10 months old, 19lbs 8oz and 28.5 inches long at her 9 month check up!!! This picture was the first time she nursed and we are still going strong now, not one bottle or pacifier 😍
My second daughter was a bit more stubborn. This one I had irregular contractions starting at 23 weeks. At 38 weeks I swelled to the point of pants no longer fitting. My doctor made sure it was not preeclampsia. It wasn't so she set up an early induction. I was to call that morning to see if there was room for me to come in. I started calling at 330 am. there was no room. The hospital was so busy that day I didn't get in until 1100. They delivered 29 babies before I had came in. Paper work and waiting for my doctor took the longest. Finally my water was broken and I was given pitocin to regulate my irregular contractions. After about an hour and a half I asked again for the epidural. Little did I know it was already to late. They administered the epidural within an hour I was begging for more. My nurse came in and told me how to get a shot of more medication. After 3.5 hours of labor my second princess made her entrance. Born 8lbs 10oz at 1838. :)
💬 My first daughter. I started preterm labor at 29 weeks. We held on for 10 more weeks. The morning I started labor I felt uncomfortable. No comfort was found. We went to the hospital and I was given a shot of morphine in my hip. It helped me get some rest. 12 hours later after being sent home I was back and still no progress. I then went for a walk. finally after a half hr and a panic attack progress. I was then administered the epidural. Within an hour I dilated from 4 to 8 cm. It took another 7 hours for my little girl to make her entrance. Born at 607 weight 6lb 4oz my little girl arrived. :)
💬 I have to start my story out by saying that I have rheumatoid arthritis... I see my rheumatologist every 6-8 weeks and only being 28 (29 now) and no kids he wouldn't put me on any "good medicines" for it as they can cause birth defects and it takes awhile for the meds to get out of your system once you've been on it...I went to my November appointment and got asked the famous are you still trying to get pregnant question, and of course we said yes (I had stopped my birth control in may to start trying to get pregnant) he had said that if we didn't get pregnant by the beginning of the new year that we should look into seeing a fertility Dr as I wasn't getting any younger. 😂 the middle of November I decided to buy an at home ovulation test to try and get pregnant on our own. I took the test and it had a smiley face... so I knew I was at high peak to get pregnant...well I retested again after 4 days (knowing I hadn't had sex because my husband was on night shift for 3 nights) and it had shown another smiley face...I said to myself something doesn't seem right, so I went and bought a pregnancy test after work. when I got home I tested and it said pregnant! I couldn't believe my eyes! I didn't say a word to my husband because I didn't want to get his hopes up in case it was a false positive... so I made an appointment with my family Dr and of course I couldn't get in until December 23...I went to my appointment and sure enough I was pregnant!
💬I went home and put the pregnancy tests and a Notre Dame onesie in a small Christmas gift box and told y husband he had to open it before he left for work. he opened it and pulled the onesie out with a confused look on his face and said it wouldn't fit our puppy and as he said that he noticed the pregnancy tests and was so over joyed that we were finally expecting! at this point I didn't think I was very far along...I had an obgyn appointment on January 22...we went thinking I was only 10 weeks along or so, and they did a dating scan that day, and to my surprise the little august baby I thought we were going to have was going to be making its appearance into the world in may! I was 22 weeks and 3 days along!
💬I never once had a single symptom that lead me to believe I was pregnant! my due date was may 25th...I went to my 38 week appointment (may 17) and was 1cm dilated with my blood pressure being slightly high, so my Dr sent me to labor and delivery to see if it would go down or to see if I was going to be induced. well the Dr that was there decided to go ahead and induce me. I layed in that hospital bed from Tuesday afternoon until Thursday afternoon (52 hours) and had only went from 1cm to 4.5cm...I said I'm ready for her to be out..after having been on pitocin, and still wasn't making any progress we decided to do a c-section...our little girl entered this world on may 19th at 1610 weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 inches long. it was a very long process (and I wouldn't wish being induced on anyone!) but we are so in love and couldn't be happier! ❤ sorry for the long story!
💬 I was in shock so bad I don't remember what I did with him! I was praying I didn't drop him!! Also my legs were clamped shut so the Dr's had a really hard time getting the placenta out and I wouldn't let them stitch me up. It was definitely crazy, telling the story I can't describe the emotions that went along with that you know?
💬 I was 34 weeks and 5 days when I had Rocky. I went in for my 34 week appointment on Tuesday, May 3rd. They told me my blood pressure was high but not concerning. I went home and Wednesday it was terrible. I went to the hospital Thursday and spent a couple hours there due to high blood pressure. They sent me home to do the 24 hour urine collection and I didn't pee a lot at all. Friday I took that in and went and had an ultrasound to make sure he was healthy and measuring right. They said they'd call me, but never did. Saturday, I started feeling bad that afternoon but didn't think about it due to bedrest. I figured it go away. Sunday morning I woke up instantly feeling terrible. Brandon said I looked really pale so I took my blood pressure and it was 177/122. Brandon had worked until 7am so my mom took me to the hospital. They monitored me for about an hour and my blood pressure wouldn't go down. My doctor came in and checked me again with an ultrasound to see that Rocky was breech so he told me I had to have a csection. I started bawling for almost an hour because they were close to taking me back and Brandon was almost there. They wheeled me back the moment he got through the hospital doors and sent him straight to the OR to get ready while I got my spinal. Rocky entered the world on May 8th, at 11:08 being 4lbs and 1oz. He spent a week in the hospital just to gain weight because he dropped to 3lbs 13oz. I didn't get a picture with him right away because he had to be taken instantly and I didn't get to see him in person until the next day which broke my heart and still bothers me to this day, but the nurses took my phone and snuck pictures of him ❤️❤️

I went in for my 38 week check up and I was exactly 38 weeks that day it was 4 in the evening, they checked my blood pressure and it was really high so they schedule me to be induced that night, they tried a pill thing that the put up my whoo whoo, but the week before my mucus plug came out I was dilated at a 3 so that's where I was when they started trying to induce me and stayed there till 6 in the morning then they broke my water then I went from a 3 to a 6 then an 8 and his head was stuck for a minute on my cervix, I was in labor for 3 hours it was difficult my blood pressure went up to 220 I went preeclampsia I could not breathe, they were about to prep me for a c section then I pushed hard and he finally came, but cause of the medicine I was on messed with his breathing so my son came out blue, but they got him breathing right away. I got him for a minute before they took him to nicu then took care of me after I pushed my placenta out I started hem rigging, plus I tore from the inside out. My son and I almost died, I was glad he was out of danger before me I would gladly give my life for his. So he and I were under observation, I got my time with him 3 hours later, and to keep me stable after the birth the put compressor on my legs, continued the medication for my blood pressure in the IV, heart monitor, blood pressure machine strapped to me, I had a catheter also. So when I finally got to have my time with my son I could not nurse him, like I wanted to, I was so groggy could barely keep my eyes open, my husband had to make sure I stayed awake. But being able to hold him made all the bad things worth it. I fell in love so hard for little cub. He is now 2 months old and strong big boy. 🙂 but my husband and I decided if we ever want another child (to be discussed later down the road) that I will have a c section next time.
Due October 4th 2014 It's a boy: Silas Chase King Wates Born: September 22nd 2014 38w 2d 6:03pm Since the beginning of my third trimester I started itching but thought it was my just because my skin was stretching. As time went on it got worse. Around the 20th of August my itching got really bad, I would scratch my stomach for long periods of time until I went numb or was in pain and bleeding. About a week later the itching spread to my arms, legs, back of my hands, and tops of my feet. September 1st I went to the emergency room and told them what was going on they checked to see if I had any visible rashes and I didn't, so they drew my blood to test me for Cholestasis of pregnancy and gave me a prescription: Atarax for itching. September 8th I made a doctor's appointment cause I hadn't seen one in a few months since I moved across country and back. I had to do my one hour glucose test since I never took it. They told me only part of my results came back and that it was negative, so they drew my blood again to double check. On September 15th I went back to the doctors and they told me my results came back abnormal and I was diagnosed with cholestasis and that the doctor wouldn't let me go over 38 weeks. Also my glucose test results got lost and I had to do it again. Sunday September 21st at 9pm was my scheduled induction. To start my labor process they gave me an enema and I got to be off the monitors for a hour that was from 9-10pm. They continued checking me and around midnight they started Pitocin. They had to check my blood sugar every two hours but for some reason my numbers were high and they started checking every hour. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I wasn't diagnosed with gestational diabetes but my glucose test results came back abnormal as well and I was supposed to do a 3 hour glucose test but didn't have the chance to since I was being induced. Eventually my numbers came down and they finally stopped poking me and I was able to rest. I'm not sure what time it was but at some point early in the morning maybe around 3am the doctors came in and checked me and I was still one centimeter they said 2 was being generous so they said they could continue Pitocin or give me the folley bulb so I took the bulb. They put the bulb in filled it with water and tugged and taped it to my leg to keep the pressure there. They told me every 30 minutes they would need to keep tugging on it and offered me an epidural I said no. It was a little painful but uncomfortable too so, I got meds through my IV, I tasted it and the nurse said I should feel sleepy and I said no I don't then I said now I feel it and a few minutes later I was out! Around 330am they came to pull on it and it completely popped out! I went from 1 to 4 cm in 30 minutes! They continued pitocin and I just laid in bed. The nurses laughed at me and would run in my room asking "did you feel that?" I'd look at them crazy and say no because I didn't feel any contractions and they were off the charts. By 7cm they decided to break my water at 12pm and asked if I wanted an epidural again I said no. I started to feel my contractions as soon as the nurses left my room and to cope I would stop breathing. My mom told me to get an epi since baby needed oxygen. My son was not effected in no way shape or form from me not breathing but I did it to be safe. So at 1pm I got an epi. Due to me having slight scoliosis they had to stick me twice the needle hurt more than my contractions and I was sure to let the anesthesiologist know she was hurting me more than my contractions she did it successfully but I did not like her haha. The epidural reduced my contractions but I still felt them. Fast forward to about 545-550pm I randomly asked my mom will I know when I need to push and she said "oh you'll know! Why?" I told her I wasn't sure of it was pressure of his head or I needed to push so she went to get the nurse and she checked my blood pressure, temp, and cervix, I was 10cm with a fever. The nurse yelled "we need to get this baby out now!" She was panicking because 2 other babies were coming at the same time and there was no one to deliver my baby a few mins later they all came in. I was able to listen to my body and push when I felt my contractions. As soon as I started pushing you could see hair. I looked through the mirror to see my son being born. I did 4 pushes for his head one for the shoulders and he was out. Born at 6:03pm 6lbs 11.5oz 19in. He's 21 months, will be 2 Sept 22nd. I'm due Sept 29th with baby 2 and I will not be getting an epidural this time, I had too many complications after birth. And hopefully I'll have a natural birth without being induced.

my son had a due date of June 21 2013 . when June came around I watched my mom graduate from college on a Sunday. that Monday my water broke. went straight to hospital. my son was healthy but had gotten his shoulder stuck. so he was in nicu for the first week of his life. he was born at 38 weeks at 8# 3 oz. 21 in. my daughter was part of a set of twins. I had complications throughout my pregnancy such as hyper emesis. at my last Dr appointment he talked to me about induction. on March 17 we tried but failed. on her due date we tried again. I had a feeling I would need an epidural. after I got the epidural he broke my water. I started to dilate. the nurses went to check me and had to have both check. come to find out they both felt my daughters hand. I was so jealous. at about 6 I was in or getting prepped for a c section. at about 630 I started crying after hearing her cry and seeing her. both my babies we're unplanned but blessings none the less. I will always remember the day they we're born.
Thanks for sharing! The story about the 1.5 hour labor that was all natural and the nurse not believing me that I was ready to push was my story, and I only have one daughter, although the story below it made it seem as though I had another child. So just wanted to let everyone know that the story below mine is not my story, it is someone else's lol
I went into labor at 34 weeks and 3 days. it was February 20th and it was my baby shower. I had been having contractions since 31 weeks. 630 pm that night I was having pretty painful of what I thought was BH. Since we were at my SIL home since she hosted the baby shower and we were going to do maternity pictures the next morning we stayed the night....my husband slept well . I on the other hand began timing my "bh" after a horrid night trying to sleep my BH went from 10 minutes apart to 6 minutes apart the next morning. unfortunately our maternity pictures were cancelled due to the photographer having a family emergency. My MIL stated I was in labor since it was all in my back. I didn't want to belive it cause I had pain like this before. so I asked my hubby to take us gone so I could try to relax.
after being home for only a hr. my contractions Were now 3 to 5 minutes apart and decided to head to the hospital. my midwife was there and told to our astonished faces we were 4cm dialated and 100% effaced. I was admitted and they wanted me to stay pregnant till 35 weeks. day 3 of labor I developed real bad preclamscia I was induced with pitocen ans water broken. 15 hrs later our baby girl, Hazel Grace Michelle Zehm came at 35 weeks 1 day February 25th. 2 days after my 25th Birthday. weighing at 7lbs 6 oz and 20 inches long. perfectly healthy.
she is now a almost 4 month old and is such good happy baby. on track in her milestones.
@preggie.daily, is this going on the Facebook page? I'd love to find a way to share it so my family could see that Rocky's story is in it.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls.
