So the reason I smoke is because I have really bad migraines .. Now I am getting them again when I was pregnant it went away .. So my question is if I wanted to smoke but I'm breast feeding how long would it take for it to not come in my milk because I am Breastfeeding I'm not playing to smoke but just wondering and thinking anyone knows ?
my lactation lady said it was fine after I have my baby since I can't take my seizure meds
I am just curious where you found this info @motherlotus, I'm literally not judging it's just I have been refraining from smoking bud since before becoming pregnant and after because I am breastfeeding, and the only information I could find is that experts are unsure what effects it could have on the baby but that some studies indicate it could slow development and that the THC stays in breastmilk for up to 24 hours after smoking if you're just an occassional smoker....so I would love to read more about this info of yours so I could make an informed decision, I used to have a medi-card because of my anxiety, it helped me relax and even helped my back pain because I was less tense....
@hellosweetie, I wish I still had all of the pages I had saved on it but I got a new phone and lost them all. If you do a quick search about cannabinoids being in breastmilk you should be able to find plenty of info on it! There aren't many studies done on this but even from seeing general statistics there aren't any significant differences in babies! And of course hear-say. I've been looking into it since I was pregnant with my first four years ago and was very iffy at first because it's so hard to find conclusive evidence of either stance, but since then I have come to form my own opinions based off of everything I've read and I am all for it! I also suffer from anxiety and other mental illness and it is a life saver for me personally.
