Raise your hand if you’re having a summer pregnancy🙋🏻
We recently talked to the moms in the mom.life community about summer pregnancies. For many, it was just plain torture! But for others, it was just awesome. Here are 63 stories of survival, love and how to stay cool with the heat and humidity!
➡️ This is my second summer pregnancy. I actually prefer it being summer time because every now and then when I start to feel extra heavy I can go for a swim in my community pool! My due date is Oct 12 but I'm set to be induced Sep 21. The heat makes the end very difficult though. I remember just laying on my couch in between appointments with the air blasting on me the last couple weeks I was pregnant with my son because it became very painful to move. With this pregnancy so far its great aside from the hot flashes and dizziness.
➡️ It was over 100 degree no AC and the house was made of brick. I couldn't stand the heat and cool baths only made me dizzy. I do love spring though. it's perfect! 🚿
➡️ I remember being hot when it was a nice 50 degrees outside....
➡️ Last summer i was 6 months pregnant and my family wanted to go to Six Flags Elitch Gardens but they didn't want to leave me out of it. my mom got free tickets from her work. the pool area was sooo crowded i just stood in the pool splashing water on my baby bump the sun felt horrible i felt like i was boiling my baby! also my house had no air conditioning, I lived in a condo type house with my aunt and uncle upstairs and my family downstairs. My aunt had a swamp cooler and we would open the door separating our house to get air. they kept turning it off or shutting the door at night, it really pissed me off so i had a box fan blowing on me all night and my poor husband was curled up in a fleece blanket.
➡️ My son was born sep 17th and LUCKILY we didn't have half as hot of a summer as the year before. we had a few 90° days so my bd put an air conditioner in but that was about it. the worst was at night because i sleep like crap in the heat add in a 6,7,8,9 month belly and i was MISERABLE
➡️ June 25th due date.. Third pregnancy fall and winter babies before so this is torture...
➡️ Oh god my first two kids were born August 23 and June 30th omg was i miserable I wanted to punch everyone 😂😂😂
➡️ The heat always bothered me so it bothers me a little more than normal. If I'm near or in a pool then I'm good but can only stay out in the heat for so long before I need to be the air conditioning.
➡️ I spent the majority of my pregnancy in a camper with no AC. 100 outside and it must have gotten up to 120 inside. We also didn't have running water. The pipes broke so we had to use the park bathrooms. I also worked at a tree farm that was a block away. Couldn't get away from the heat. No wonder my baby gets super irritable in the heat haha
➡️ I was due august 9th with my first..... I had to go the entire ARIZONA summer pregnant..... now I'm due with twins September 15 but thankfully we just moved to Washington....
➡️ Yes! omg it feels like I got a little oven in there!
➡️ Got A/C and then you’re good😊
➡️ I'm due August 9th and I can say I don't like going places and dressing in my clothes when I can stay home and enjoy the air conditioning it's to hot for me but since I like the sun and little tan I got outside and spray myself with cold water to keep me cool just so I can enjoy it a little
➡️ Due August 18th with my first and have to say if I'm chilling by the pool in my bikini I'm loving life but if I'm on my way to work in work clothes then I'd rather stay at home in my birthday suit in the air conditioning.
➡️ Last summer was pretty bad for me, I had my first trimester in the hottest months and the morning sickness sometimes even made water taste awful so It was hard to get through without eating much. where I worked didn't make it any better so I switched to night shifts and I was able to handle it much better .
➡️ I pregnant last March and it was nice I didn't have the big belly or anything but r car didn't have a.c. so we went swimming a lot and we went camping a couple of times but I had my son September 1,2015th at 24 weeks
➡️ My first was born august 30th, it was a terribly hot experience! I didn't leave my air conditioned house for anything but work. lol. I hated being huge pregnant the entire summer. thus pregnancy I'm due July 8th, so I hope this month it doesn't get too hot. lol. but I'm also hoping he comes at the end of this month.
➡️ 21 weeks and it's 100+ where I'm at! this is going to be a long summer
➡️ I had my 1st July 17th 2012 here in eastern North Carolina. It was 105 and it was a heat wave. I couldn't breathe walking to the car so we lived in ac. I didn't/wouldn't go outside for longer than my house to the car & only if I had an apt & I did the same thing with my 2nd not as hot but 95 is still hot car to the hospital or house that's it ac life for this big girl lol
➡️ I'm still in the early months so it's not too bad just yet. My body has been able to adjust to staying cool but I do tend to get overheated if I'm outside too long or working out outside.
➡️ I live in Louisiana, summer starts in March and ends in December basically. Christmas here was 65. I was pregnant with no a.c. my whole pregnancy. It was so terrible!!
➡️ I'm due august 8th and I have a love/hate relationship with the heat.. I can do the heat. I can't do the humidity after it rains!! If I can sit in water and cool off I love it!! if I'm stuck in the house it's horrible because we have no ac :(
➡️ Torture!!!!!!!!!! I was 8 months in the middle of July 😩
➡️ This is my second in a row 😩
➡️ The heat sucks. I've fainted twice from heat.
➡️ My first and the heat is horrible I'm sure it's gonna be a pain as I start to grow a bit. I'm just glad I'm due in February! :)
➡️ This is my second in a row. I hate it lol I stay miserable during the summers as is adding being in the middle of my pregnancies both times it was just torture.
➡️ This is my second, it doesn't bother me
➡️ It's horrible especially when I leave the house cause my car has no AC and my windows don't roll down.
➡️ My 2nd trimester was during the summer. It was the worst because in VA the humidity is horrible
➡️ I'm absolutely MISERABLE! Im definitely planning out my next pregnancy where its not in the summer.
➡️ With my son, it was torture! I don't handle the heat well and being pregnant just made me more uncomfortable.
➡️ I had my baby last year August 24th...The heat from Spring on was unbearable to me, my last few weeks were spent lying naked in bed with wet cloths on me and a fan pointed directly on me, and yet I still was sweating and SO SWOLLEN. It was completely miserable, I loved my belly buddy but I did NOT love the heat....We didn't have an AC at the time, so whenever my man was off work I would beg him to take me to the mall or SOMETHING to enjoy some cool air! And bringing home my poor newborn baby girl was horrible, she was sweaty, I was sweaty....she spent the first couple weeks primarily in a diaper only lol and a wet wash cloth on her head when she nursed 😂
➡️ I was only pregnant with my daughter until June but I lived in SC & spring FELT like summer & it was nice being pregnant! As long as there was AC around or we took walks when the sun was going down.
➡️ I was pregnant all summer! I thought winter was bad, but being in the third trimester when it's 90 degrees outside is NOT my idea of a good time. I ended up staying indoors most of the time because I hated the heat so much! On the upside, getting dressed was ten times easier since all i'd do was throw on a maxi dress and flip flops. There's always the pool, air conditioned malls, and the beach! I found ways to stay cool. The hydration and chugging gallons of water meant I had to download a "where are bathrooms located?" App which was fun because I never knew apps like those existed! Oh, and who can forget the feeling of an ice cold smoothie or Popsicle??? Now that Ezra is almost a year old, I like that his birthday will be in the summer! Sure beats celebrating it indoors! ❤️😎🌞🔥
➡️ 🙌🏼 I have a love hate relationship with summer! I love the sunshine and how happy it makes me & what a good mood it puts me in! But these pregnancy hot flashes are hardcore!!!! Lol!!! But I still choose sunshine over anything else!!! Yay summer! ☀️☀️
➡️ I live in Miami, haven't been pregnant in 13 yrs since my last time, this heat feels like I have no air, just walking to parking lot to car from my job…
➡️ I loved being pregnant in the summer. Yes it was hot, but it was better than trying to layer on clothes during the winter! I loved being able to wear sun dresses and show off my belly. Swimming and eating ice cream was not bad either lol To keep hydrated I drank water with cut up fruit in it. Loved the summer!
➡️ I was working while pregnant during the summer and I was miserable . I would always feel dehydrated even though I would drink 3 gallons of water a day and I was always hot and sweaty
➡️ I'm due august 29th. It’s torture yet so worth it on the end. I’m not a fan of the heat is been living on Popsicles, swimming pools, shade, ac and fans…🏊🏽
➡️ Everyone of my pregnancies were in the summer included this one and they are horrible. I hate the heat.
➡️ Being pregnant all summer didn't bother me really. I used to sit outside for hours with the kids watching them play and run around. I wasn't able to do much that summer cause I was supposed to rest as much as possible but I made sure my kids were able to have fun.
➡️ It has its ups and its down… I was born in the summer and and I am due a day after my birthday August 16 its an amazing feeling watching and seeing my baby grow and I love the heat but It does make u more tired and hotter with the extra bump and not so fitting clothes but it will soon all b worth it :)
➡️ I have a pool and I enjoyed swimming everyday of the summer when I was pregnant.🌞
➡️ My daughter was a summer pregnancy! I live near Hershey park and had a friend working there, and I would get sooo uncomfortable. I'd buy her free tickets at a discount so I could ride the lazy river all day lol. My pregnancy was torture.
➡️ I luv it!!!! This is my is second summer pregnancy my son was born Aug 31 and Reagen’s due date is 10/8. I live in California. I live around water and I sleep a lot lol
➡️ I hated it! The heat on top of the morning sickness, horrible, not to mention in Texas it's hotter than heck!
➡️ I live in Middle GA when the humidity is always 90-100, and they heat index is ALWAYS high and the weather is always hot and muggy I was in my second trimester the whole summer with no A/C it was horrible.
➡️ I hate it! I hate sweating, the heat and humidity is enough to make me want to kill someone and I'm always hot.
➡️ I'm due July 22. I also live in Arizona where already we are getting 117 degree weather. So my advice is to stay cool and drink lots of water! Especially because now you're with child and you need double the water! Swim whenever you can. Just stay cool lol. Nothing else you can really do 😂
➡️ I'm almost done, 33 weeks, I'm due July 19th and I'm miserable
➡️ I'm due in October and boy it's starting out like misery is summer and I'm her company. I been out on some nice days...but because of hormones I instantly get aggravated from the heat.
➡️ I was pregnant over winter time (well winter in Miami isn't much of a winter) I was hot all the time. My boss fought with me about turning down the Ac in January when I was cool out and I was sweating.
➡️ I've been completely miserable. I work in a nursing home where all the residents control the temp in their room 90% of them have their heat on full blast. Also my house doesn't have central air all we have is a window unit in the bedroom. I just can't escape the heat. :-(
➡️ This is my first pregnancy and i love my growing belly and i love being pregnant but the heat has been kicking my butt! with the humidity its hard to breathe
➡️ I LOVE being pregnant, I love my growing belly, but the heat and I do not mix! If I can find myself a lounge chair in the shade with a breeze, I'm fine to be outside. But I'll start sweating and getting uncomfortable as soon as I step outside most days!
➡️ I got pregnant in March and had to go the WHOLE summer "renting my uterus out to my lovely tenant" 😂😂😂😂😂 But she stayed in my back or side and slept all day and waited till 1 in the morning to try and karate kick her way out my belly button
➡️ This is my second summer pregnancy. My first I was due Oct 4th and this one I'm due Oct 1st lol 3 days apart. Going through the summer pregnant is never easy or fun, you already have a higher blood volume making you hot already and adding 80-100 degree weather in Florida is just miserable! I must say this time around so far its not as bad as my first pregnancy. With my first I got diagnosed with Cholestasis so I was itching to the point I would bleed. It did not feel good at all especially when the heat would trigger my itching. 😩 I hope the next time around I won't have to go through the summer with baby 3.
➡️ I had a summer pregnancy it was my first and my belly was so tiny I just looked BLOATED 😂😂😂 I didn't start showing until I was about 7months so it was fine for me 😊😊
➡️ Last year I went through all of summer until August 18th pregnant. It was SUPER hot but I loved showing off my bump in my bikini. I also ate a lot of Popsicles!!
➡️ Unbearable?! 😂 I was two months pregnant two summers ago and had horrible all day sickness. I have already told my SO if we have a baby he best make sure I'm pregnant in the fall and winter 😂 yes I know he canyon determine when we get pregnant but still lol
➡️ Went through Aug 21 with 1st and went through June 1st this kid. They were both terrible. I was miserable.
➡️ This pregnancy with this heat is so horrible I just want to sit in a tub full of cold water🛀🏾
➡️ Absolutely HORRIBLE!? It feels like death anytime you're outside and dry 😩 I won't go outside😅😅😅
➡️ One word: swimming. That's the only way I made it through alive being 9mo pregnant in July.🏖
➡️ I survived 5 summer pregnancies, and 3 in the Southwest Florida heat. The humidity is what killed me. I could have stood the heat if there wasn't 100% humidity, but this place is like a rainforest. Keeping hydrated at all times is what saved me, and spending minimal time outdoors as well.
➡️ When I first got pregnant it was summer and I was throwing up all day everyday. I hated being pregnant and sick and hot all in one. but it ended up getting better as it cooled down.

I live in Florida and the last week has been well into the 100's. Our AC isn't working the best due to it being old and we live in a trailer that we are remodeling to make newborn ready. I thought it was an AWESOME idea to get a puppy 6weeks ago being 28weeks pregnant now!! Yeah idk how this is going to work. Just going out to potty train him makes me dizzy and feels like I'm a water faucet pouring sweat..eww it is gross. Having a hard time curbing dehydration where I've been getting fevers because it's like my internal temperature gauge is not working at all. Water water and more water. I'm going to strongly dislike this clear liquid by the time I give birth. A beach day is so in need. 11 weeks 3 days to go. Come on baby girl. Sydney Lynn is due Sept 6

I live in nc, it's super humid but I don't hate it actually! Lol I would rather be pregnant in the summer because I feel so bleh in clothes other than dresses. I couldn't imagine being pregnant when it is cold because you have to wear so much uncomfortable clothes!!

I'm due on Sunday, the 19th, and I am still working right now. It's been getting up to 100 degrees and I work outside on vehicles. I don't get as many breaks as I would like to have, aand it's impossible to keep cool. It sucks.

These are not survival stories, these are compliants about having summer babies. I must say im having a blast, i love the heat, i like ac too, but only if its comfortable. If it's winter feeling on the inside I am not a happy camper!

I had a summer pregnancy last year and it wasn't too bad for me. It was a hot summer but I pretty much lived in sundresses. Thankfully we have central a/c and it was nice not have to dress up like an Eskimo in my own home. Lol

I'm hating this heat so much! 120° this weekend and it hasn't even hit the hottest month yet!!!! not to mention I'm already overweight and being pregnant I'm just dying of heat!! I just wanna fast forward to November already! I keep myself in the house all the time unless I have to go outside. at least once the sun goes down it gets better but it's still freaking hot
