you can definitely give formula if it's your choice just remember breastfeeding is a demand & supply. if you skip a feeding you are telling your body you don't need that milk. it takes more than a day for it to affect your supply but just a heads up. after you regulate is when i suggest supplementing. but if baby gets full off one side i also suggest pumping the other side if you plan on going out. i would pump & store in the freezer then take one already there to defrost for the day because then it lasts 24 hours vs 5 hours with fresh pumped milk. does that make sense? i pump & breast-feed my son for 8 months.

oh yeah i forgot to mention that if you pump it and don't put it right in the fridge or the freezer it lasts for about 3 to 4 hours

So if I go out and pump before I leave how long can that milk last out without being in the freezer? I am so sorry some parts are jist so confusing lol @4xmeislove

Giving a baby formula when you go out is never bad especially if your breastfeeding at home, you can pump and save the milk. in the fridge it'll last about 5 days, in the freezer if it's fresh it'll last about 2 weeks to like 6 months and up to a year in the Deep Freeze :) just know that if you don't use formula though it can save you $1,500

people will tell you it's a schedule, but it's not. nursing on demand is best. especially this young.

I would try to offer both breasts every nursing session, but it's okay if she only nurses on one side. but nurse her every time she gives you hunger cues.

feed when they want it.. don't go by a clock.. it averages every 2 hrs at first, but watch your baby's cues cause they are all different. feed on demand while you can, then you should start to see a pattern. the first 6 weeks are the most important for regulating how much milk you produce.
