I'm going on a vacation for a day and the father's mother is babysitting. (first time I'll ever be away from my son :( ) I always breastfeed I don't pump and do bottle only because I never have to. but I'm unsure about how many ounces to give to her for him I have a lot stored but I don't want it all to be wasted because he doesn't finish them. it takes him a bit to even finish two ounces. Can anyone help me??
@wiccanmommy, he eats food also should I give her a little less milk so she feeds him the food? i feel like she'll go straight to the milk. we dont have a routine since I stay home all day I just feed him when I feel like he's hungry or is crying so I don't really know how to write it down for her
have it in 2 oz bags and give her a bunch.. have her keep them frozen until needed and you won't waste a bunch.
@indigenousmommy, yes he takes bottle ok he usually just plays around with it but will eat if he's hungry. after trying many different kinds I found this weird band he loves it.
I'd say it's safe to give her at least 12 ounces. If it's only going to be 8 hours.
I would have a conversation with her.. send food too, but make sure there is enough milk because he may choose a different schedule with you gone. he may eat or drink more or less. maybe if she can hang out with you for a day before hand and do all the feedings with you around so you can help her decern the cues you normally see?
