so at my next apt I'll be 17weeks to the day and was wondering do I have to ask to find out if my baby is a boy or girl or do they just tell me this is my 2 visit since going into the second trimester I have no idea what this visits about any ideas?

thank you @kayla93 and I would like to find our sooner then later my S.O grandma is in the hospital with cancer I would like to tell her
you can always ask, you don't have to wait until 20-22 weeks? my sister found out at her 15 week appointment she was having a girl and I went with her. she just asked if it was to early to tell and he said no and found the part and said it was a girl lol
all your appointments at your doctor from here on out are to make sure baby is growing accordingly. they will measure your belly and listen to the heartbeat
They usually shoot for an ultra sound around 20-22 weeks. You'll have your ultra sound appointment then a check up with your doc. At the beginning of the ultra sound they'll check you first, then go into checking the baby. This is when they will ask you if you want to know the gender or if you're keeping it a surprise. When they find it they'll tell you or if you want it a surprise they'll avoid it. Then you'll get an explanation of what your seeing on the screen, as well as your ultra sound pictures.
