My lo latched on in about an hours time after I gave birth and the milk (colostrum) was there ,after about 3-4 days proper milk comes in xxx

No ,nothing , as midwifes told me - babies are not that hungry when they come out so they actually might go without milk for a few hours xx @janegail

@Janegail, the colostrum provides all the necessary nutrients for the first few days. It's actually knows as the most beneficial nutrition of their early life. No formula is needed if you are breast feeding :) x

around day 3. my daughter fed lots in the first few days as the colostrum is thinner so not as filling. This was baby no 4 and I just kept feeding anytime she wanted it which has really helped my supply when it cane in. you don't need formula its your choice, but using it early in can reduce your supply. you make enough based on your babies feeding. hospitals encourage you to feed as soon as possible. usually within the first hr of skin to skin. x
