You don't have a choice they test everyone to make sure you don't have it when you deliver. I was tested my very first visit, Idk why they wouldn't mention it to you though

I would call and make sure that it was from ur ob that happened to me and someone else was trying to use my insurance

Yeah but they've never mentioned it or anything and the date on it isn't from my first visit for the beginning of my pregnancy it's more towards the middle of pregnancy that they did it. @vb95

my Dr told me and they done a blood test and swab down there usually they tell you tho

The only time I've been swabbed down there was last week when they swabbed me for the group b test. The labcorp bill if from December

I'm a lab tech and handle these tests daily. they test for it because if a mother has it, it could cause miscarriage/stillbirth or could be passed to the baby if not treated.

depending on your age they automatically test for it. I'm 23 and I've been with my husband for almost 6yrs now and I asked my ob if they really needed to test for it and she said it was an age thing.

I was never told I was being tested for it, but then again I knew I would be since I am in the medical field. I would tell them that they need to start letting you know what all the tests are for, so that you know what results to expect back and what things are going to be on the bills

It's a part of the first scan they do at your first appt.

In my state they do mandatory std checks at the beginning of your pregnancy and again at 6 months

they could have tested you then but id def as ur Dr its odd that u got that bill but ur Dr never told you anything about it I hope you can figure it out
