Everyone wanna increase their milk supply whereas I want to decrease mine. Oversupply is a pain in the arse. My daughter chokes and gags each time I nurse her.
Yes this all makes sense! Once again, thank you so much!! I was so close to giving up already. But I know it's the best for babies! @hellosweetie
Awww no problem mama! Yes, eventually it was either she took it like a champ or my supply settled down a bit or a combination of both lol....I can still feel the horrible pinching feeling when I let down so I don't think my let down calmed down much but she can handle it now! There is hope lol I was lucky to never get mastitis and never noticed if I had clogged ducts, but I was basically engorged ALL THE TIME in the beginning, frequint nursings helped a lot and one boob at a time ensured that my boobs got the signal to slow down and also that my girl wouldn't get too much of the watery foremilk in the "front" and would get plenty of the thicker hind milk in the "back" 😉 if that makes any sense lol
Omg omg omg thank you! You've given me hope! That's exactly what I'm going through. Your daughter got used to the milk flow? I'm always engorged and prone to plugged ducts. I got mastitis twice! Thank you thank you thank you!! @hellosweetie glad your daughter is doing well! Can't wait for my daughter to get there:)
I used to have an over supply and over active let down, my poor girl couldn't latch unless I expressed a little before a feed, and the minute the let down came she would cough and splutter and pop off, only to get sprayed in the face 😂 at around 1 I think is when I started feeding her on only one breast at a time, but OFTEN like every hour or two...I would let her drink one booby, then an hour or so later I would offer the other booby. Somewhere around 3 to 4 months, she started being able to chug the let down without popping off, but I still fed her on one side each nursing session...I think around 6 months is when she started wanting to nurse off of each side almost every nursing session, and boy can she chug it FAST! She can finish a completely engorged booby in the mornings in literally 4 minutes flat 😲 I only get engorged in the mornings now because she sleeps 8 to 10 hours, and sometimes during the day if she goes more than 3 hours without eating, but I still try and feed her every 2 hours because otherwise she can get hangry, we could get caught up and then miss out in a feed for 4 hours and that's WAY too long, or I can risk getting too engorged and getting clogged ducts or lowering my supply too much, and we are 9 months strong tomorrow so I don't wanna screw it up now! lol I would definitely suggest trying to cut out your pumping sessions and feed often, but one breast each feed. Hand express and massage the other breast if it gets too engorged, and also use warm compress to keep it softened, and feed that baby SUPER often! Eventually your baby will get better at emptying the breasts and also your supply will settle down to match her needs...until then, stock up your freezer for a later date or to donate!
And o have to completely empty to prevent clogged milk ducts and mastitis
Oh please help. The doctors and nurses told me to pump pump pump and I regret it. That's what made my supply increase. I went from pumping 6 times a day to 2/3
@meagansimone
Is it a natural oversupply or do you pump as well? There are ways to decrease it other than block feeding, but it is so specific and if you don't do it right, you'll drh up.
I've been trying that as well. I have an appt this Thursday and hoping my doctor can help! Thank you Meagan 💕 @meagansimone I just fed my baby and she barely emptied my breast.
In order to decrease your supply, that's an issue you'll likely have to face. When you fed from the one side, make sure to hand express the other to comfort.
I got plugged ducts from that so fast 😔 @meagansimone
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
You got this mama! It's hard but you are doing great, and you will get through this 😄 hit me up if you ever need support through this 😊
