I'm 25 weeks & have gained 18 pounds. Is that bad? My doctor didn't make it feel like it was a great thing. Has anyone else struggled with weight gain even while pregnant? I'm not meaning to sound selfish in any way, but I tend to judge my self off my weight a lot and anymore I would rather stay away from mirrors or camera's because of how round my face is, etc. HELP.
I'm 24 weeks 3 days and have gained 20. I wouldn't worry if I were you but I know it's hard watching the scale go up!!
I haven't done anything differently either! I'm just gonna stop worrying. I'm growing a baby!
At my last appointment (28 weeks), I had only gained 13 lbs and my doctor wanted me to gain more and I was like "really? I've eaten more than an elephant would."
My doctor made me feel terrible about it. I just said, I haven't done anything differently. Which is true. I ended up losing 4 pounds this last month, and my doctor seemed thrilled. I mean, I wasn't trying to gain or lose any weight. If I'm hungry, I eat. I didn't worry too much about it because she said my little one is perfectly healthy.
That's what happened with me, I had only gained 12 so far & jumped up by 6 pounds this month & they acted like it was a crime. Made me feel very discouraged. @jessicasharp @notheroftwojk I have no condition, I was at the weight suggested for my height when I got pregnant & thought the same that it was normal fairly good as I know many others who have gained much more by 25 weeks.
I've gained 22lbs and I'm almost 23 weeks. My doctor isn't concerned but, wic made me feel horrible about it so I called my doctor and she said don't be worried you're doing fine! I judge myself really harshly with my weight as well and stay away from pictures or anything anymore too :/
I gained over 40 pounds while I was pregnant! Everyone is different. As long as you and baby are healthy don't worry about the weight gain (:
My doctor got super upset with me for gaining 6 pounds in one month. I mean, it happens. I've only gained 12 pounds total, but that's because I lost some weight as well. I haven't changed anything except trying to get outside and walk more. I've known women who've gained 30+ pounds and their babies were perfectly healthy.
that's a normal weight gain .... smh unless you have a serious medical condition where it will be harmful for you to gain, I don't think anything is wrong with the gain
No that's not bad. I'm up 45 lbs at 32 weeks and my Drs are not concerned. Everyone gains differently during pregnancy.
Thanks ladies! Definitely helps! It is hard to watch the scale go up but I know it's all for this healthy little boy who I struggled to conceive so whatever, he's worth every pound!
