I've had it before pregnancy and it's been fine. My cycle didn't even change even though my doctor mention it might of.

I had the paraguard after my first, he's 4.5.. I had it in for about 3 years. then I just had baby 2 about 6 months ago, and I have it again! no issues.

Mirena has hormones. you need the paraguard for breastfeeding. it doesn't have the hormones, and it lasts 10 years.. but can be taken out at any time.

I have the copper IUD and it's perfectly safe to breastfeed my baby. There's no hormones so no change in my milk!

Oh then it's simple, just make sure your doctor knows you are breastfeeding and tell them you don't want to risk lowering your milk supply. They will know exactly what to give you! I'm pretty sure if it's the copper only one then it will be fine, those don't use hormones.

Did you tell the doctor you were breastfeeding? If so they should have given you the kind without hormones. You are perfectly able to breastfeed with any form of birth control, however some kinds that use hormones can lower your milk supply, so it is advised to not use those kinds. If you're not sure, contact your doctor and ask them!
