has anyone ever tried baby led weaning? if you have what did you like about it and what didn't you like about it?

has anyone ever tried baby led weaning? if you have what did you like about it and what didn't you like about it?
I started soon after baby food, my son was not interested in puréed food for very long so I'd make him what we were eating, meat I'd purée and mix with potatoes or something easy. I thought it was easier and ALOT cheaper.
