The lactation nurse said no pacifiers til 4 weeks but sometimes all she wants to do is suck and not eat so she gets mad and screams (in between feedings) but ever since I gave in and gave her one her latch has gotten stronger. Like she doesn't let go after 2 sucks. So idk to stop giving it to her or to let her keep using it 😳

I never gave my son a pacifier... It helps make your milk come in faster the more baby sucks. You got this mama!

Im proud of you! Our bodies were made to do this, but that doesn't mean we know how or that it comes without hardships. Im really pro breastfeeding and i try to encourage new moms who are trying not to give up. It's hard at first, but if you can get through the first week, you can get thru a yr or more. My little guy is 2 and we're still nursing

If it helped her get better at sucking then maybe u should use it....

And you CAN use a pacifier. Just use the same one. It's best usually to wait so they don't get nipple confusion and disrupt how she latches to your breast, but some babies don't get affected. Mine never did

@arivera64, yeah I feel like with out it it would have taken forever for her latch to develop

The pacifier is an imitation of what nature gave to us "BREASTS"

Babies suck for comfort and in no way are you spoiling your baby. At this stage you are building trust and a bond. Let her suckle away.
