I got some fenugreek pills today while I was out, I'm being induced Friday! With my first daughter it was so hard to breastfeed I gave up but I really want to try, anyone that's taking them, did you start right away? has it helped? fill me in on your experience!
be sure to do a lot of resources. just because baby feeds a lot or always "seems hungry" does not mean your supply is low. it can be a growth spurt or comfort feeding. pumping does not indicate supply either. the average woman only can pump about 2 oz per session. drinks a lot of water. it helps your supply the most. count wet diapers that will tell you if baby is eating well. & don't watch the clock fed baby when he or she is hungry. this is all stuff i learned as the months went by. if you have any questions feel free to ask.
thank you ladies @kindtrahan @verobaby bc I was just going to take them after a month if my milk wasn't in good!
wait the 6 or so weeks until your milk regulates before taking it. you might not need it. breastfeed on demand & once your boobs stop feeling like they are always full you'll be regulated. taking stuff like that can cause an over supply & it leads to health problems for you & baby. talk to your lactation consultant before taking it.
please don't take that stuff until your baby is showing signs of not getting enough milk. like no wet diapers or not gaining weight. let your body regulate mama. I'm happy you choose breastfeeding.
