So I have personal & probably tmi question? It's my personal preference to shave down there because I hate the hair, I just can't stand it & I don't know why. But I'm being induced tonight/tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should shave one more time before going in? I want to. Or if that's not something I should do? Idk I mean idk if it's going to make the hospital staff look at me all screwed up because of it haha.
I don't know how I would trim it. And if they shave it for you anyways then it'd be the same day anyway @mommagotbump16
I wouldn't recommend it within a day before, because shaving really can tug on your skin to leave behind microscopic cuts, putting you at risk for infection. If it's really close to then, you could trim it down really close to the skin.
I'm a lot like you in the fact that I shave down there all the time. I've been trying to shave every couple weeks so it doesn't get out of control, and so I can shave before having the baby. It is completely up to you what you wanna do, but I would shave :)
They recommend you don't saying something about being open to infections if you do nick yourself but it's all up to you
I would do it. You might not be able to shave for a couple of days if you tear (from personal experience - I wasn't getting a razor near my tear for a few days after lol it terrified me). They won't look at you like you're crazy I promise 😊
I don't know if you're planning on a c-section, but I had one and they had to shave part of it for me.
I shave. I do it by feel. I've delivered 3 that way. The last thing anyone is going to care about is your "hair do"
Mine works all day too but we grew up in different family environments. Mine is super helpful & supportive & loving, his was always distant and there isn't any kind of affection anywhere in his family, so I understand it's more how he was raised and not really him. It's sad tho. @annabellasmom thank you both! @babytj0214
no it's not akward lol it's part of the experience... I like to be shaved to lol. and yes it is nice. he's so supportive. and I'm sorry he's like that. your SO should be more helpful. mine works his ass off all day everyday and still helps me. he's enjoys it awkwardly lol @madi-girlsmama
@madi-girlsmama, ur funny..... go get wax done. my husband did it but it felt so weird.... because when I do it I know where I am shaving and all..... the nurses will shave u if u ask or if it's needed. like I said they don't care if ur super hairy or no hair at all..... they have all seen it :)
I would feel more comfortable with it up until they told me to take my clothes off and crap. Then I'd be like uhhhh. Yeah. Here's my vag guys. Lmao. And I take a bath. It's still ridiculously hard to shave there, or anywhere besides my arm pits really, but then again I see stars doing those sometimes haha, but it works. @babytj0214 plus I want to shave since I'll be bleeding for up to 6 weeks after, so shaving would make that easier.
they don't care if u shave or not lol.... it's more your preference..... if u do have a lot of hair and if u need a c section.... they shave for u :)
They don't shave it @madi-girlsmama they might trim it with clippers, but generally they don't remove hair unless necessary. They might for a c section, but for vaginal deliveries it's not necessary. Hope that helps!
