Has anyone tried these bottles? My son is exclusively breastfed, but I've begun pumping due to over-production. My fiancé would love to feed him sometimes to get that bonding time in with him, and I fully support his wishes. These are the Born Free Breeze bottles.
Sorry I know those aren't the bottles you were wondering about!
Munchkin latch worked great for me! It's so breast-like I was actually able to go from bottle to breast after weeks of him being on the bottle. I didn't think it would be possible but I seriously think it's because of those bottles!
@mirandag, he can finish off one breast, just not the other. I get engorged on both sides at once, so I'm always forced to choose. I set my Medela up to only pump one side. He's my second breastfed baby, so I can see why my milk came in faster, but the whole engorgement thing is killing me. It seems like I'm always getting engorged no matter what. I've tried getting him to feed off of both sides but once he finishes off one breast, he's uninterested. I pretty much have no choice but to pump the other side, and it's becoming a hassle.
Oversupply is a really bad thing. Too much milk means baby usually gets too much watery foremilk and not enough fatty hindmilk that comes when they "finish" on the breast. It's best to let baby regulate your supply to their exact needs for the first 6 weeks and then you'll never have to deal with engorgement again.
How'd he lose weight? I thought oversupply would be a good thing.. Storage them in the freezer. @mirandag
As for bottles though my son takes Munchkin Latch and I always make sure he's pace fed while I'm at work.
Pumping before 6 weeks and more than once a day can cause extreme issues with oversupply. I know a mom whose baby lost 2 pounds because her oversupply was so bad!
Never heard of them..... Tommee Tippee and MAM bottles are also really good
My son loves the bottle more than my breast 😫 he gets so fussy when I give him my breast but has no issue with with bottle. As long as his eating I’m okay with it. I’ve been pumping and I hate pumping!!
Bottles / breastfeeding
For those of you that breastfeed and pump/bottle feed what kind of bottles do you use? I breastfeed and only use the pumped milk when I go out or if my boyfriend feeds him at night. So he basically gets one bottle a day but the bottles come out way to fast for him and get all over him, I've tried dr browns and the Medela bottles but neither are slow enough. I feel like he's gonna choke. Help.
Recommendations on bottles? My son is refusing a bottle he's mostly on the boob but everyone once in a while I pump and give him bottles and now he's refusing to drink from it😩
Ladies, I need help with my 3 month old. He is refusing the bottle. I have tried tommee Tippee and Mam Bottles but no luck there. The only way he will take it is if I trick him by breastfeeding him and then inserting the bottle mid feeding. I need some tips on how to overcome this!!!
2nd night of the crib for little man. I gave him a bottle and laid him down about 15 minutes ago and he’s not having it.
If you keep pumping you'll keep getting engorged. Instead of pumping the side that's engorged try to hand express just enough to be comfortable then offer that side first at his next feeding.
