My right boob has has a a sharp pain and baby doesn't enjoy drinking milk from it as my left boob. I try to pump but nothing comes out. A hot shower helped release the pain for a few but all of a sudden I got the chills and fever off 102!. Thank God I sweating it out and I'm at 99. I'm pumping again now and still barely any milk coming. If I touch my right boob it feel sore and sharp pain. I really don't want to go to the ER. Has anyone else had this? What suck is I have to wake up again in 2 hours and get ready for work.
@crunchymomma, thanks. Yea that's what I've been doing. Having her Feed off the sore breasts first. I had a big red spot where the pain was. I feel achy but being with her and being close to her my pain seems to reduce. Thank you for providing me with the information I had no idea
but ever time you nurse latch your baby on the sore breast, keep doing warm compresses and massages for a little while, just to make sure you have the clog out completely so it's not damaging your duct if you leave it there.
it sucks, and I know you're in pain right now, but it'll get better :)
if you had a milky white blister what you had would have been called a milk bleb. it's a clogged duct but it's not actually IN the milk duct. it's where the skin of your nipple grows over one of the pores where milk comes out so the milk cannot escape at all. it's really painful and you can't just massage it out. but all you have to do is poke a small hole in the blister and express all the milk out and it's all over and done with.
I'd rather have a milk bleb than a clogged cause I've seen some graphic things about clogged ducts getting bad.
@crunchymomma, no I don't. why? would that mean something? I was able to pump milk out finally but my breast feels sore when I touch it and fever gone. Thank God
That may be a clogged duct and you want to get it out asap. Once you start feeling sick and running a fever, you're crossing over to mastitis. You don't want that. Warm compresses, massaging in the shower, etc.
