Yes your body just might have regulated.

Make it a habit to pump after feeds. You won't be successful at first, but your body will learn to keep producing milk after feeds. Unless you are an over-producer, you will have to work a little harder to be able to pump as well as breastfeed. I had the same issue and gave up on attempting to pump because I just didn't want to commit to both exclusive breastfeeding and pumping. Good luck!

Yes, unfortunately once you get to the point where you're producing on demand to your nursing baby, the pump will not do the trick as well as it used to! Your breasts are only producing what Mia needs now, and they're used to the way Mia sucks so when you try to pump, it doesn't stimulate the same and also you don't have a lot of extra going on....if you wanna get back to pump more, I'd start doing the same old, nurse Mia, then pump after each feeding, or you could pump one side while she's nursing on the other, and chances are if you do that you can catch a let down or two and pump more effectively!

Breastfeeding moms: so I am planning on going on a 3 day vacation with my hubby & a bunch of friends to Catalina in May, (my baby won't be going with us) and I do not wanna be pumping and dumping every 2 hours out there.. so if I don't pump or breastfeed for 3-4 days, will my milk supply drop significantly? 😩😩 & I don't know how I'm gonna deal with the engorgement pain if I can't find time to pump out there.
