I always see moms here complaining about their mother-in-laws and how they wanna act like the baby is theirs...

like okay, I have no family here what's so ever, and neither does my husband, the only close person he has is his sister but all she wants to do is go out, so she's not much help.

I wish I could at least have my mother-in-law here I could totally use and extra hand, with me being sick now I need to take a break, but I can't, It has to be all me.

So next time you're mad cuz your MIL wants to tell you what to do, it's okay just calmly say "it's okay, I got it" by the end of the day the baby is yours and you get do with him/her whatever you feel like doing.

I wish mine would even offer help. Mine only comes by once a month to get her baby fix for 10 minutes and leave. Everyone on my husbands side doesn't care for my baby, there mad she's a girl. I wish they were more involved. I'm sorry your alone, and I'm sorry your not feeling well I understand.. Just breath mama and try to sleep when baby sleeps ❤️ hugs *

Mine passed away but I miss my MIL everyday! She was an amazing cook and fun person! A great friend. BUT there are some assholes out there, so I cant rule out that one is someone's MIL 😂 But I agree its just me my husband and his little bro, and that is very hard!

Omg that's so sad! she's just a baby, it's not like it was anyone's fault, 😡

but thank you @emmysfishies I'm really trying to relax, is just that my baby was sick last week, and now I'm the one sick and its just so tiring and with my husband working all day it's even harder

mine is in Mexico and she has only seen him ones, and since she had surgery on one of her legs she couldn't really move but she didn't care she was so happy to see him for the first time she almost cried, she was like "If I could I'd go with you guys so I could help you out, I know how hard it is being young and being a mom" @tahtahme

but God knows when we'll see her again though:/

I guess those are extreme opposites though, no help, and too much "help"... I don't have any help really either, even her dad hardly holds her, but if I had an overbearing MIL, I'd probably be really frustrated and be happier without. I'm sure there's a happy medium. I kind of like how most of my mom holds my daughter until she cries and then hands her back and leaves. I get to go eat and pee by myself for once lol!! some people don't know how to say no, or are afraid of the consequences/butthurt that would come from saying no.... my girl is almost 6 months and I have never been away from her for more than 20 minutes, and if anyone would've asked to take her, I personally would have no problem saying NO!!!! Lol (: I doubt my baby will be able to stay with anyone until she's a year, we both got separation anxiety lol!!!

I agree! the longest I've been away from my baby was for like 2 hour, and it was because the line at the supermarket was super long!! lol

but yes I agree @kattastrophe some help is good and some others not "so good"

В ожидании первенца

Sometimes I get a little bit possessive of my baby too, and she's not even here yet. Yesterday my MIL went shopping with us and she had told me previously she wanted to buy a bassinet for her house and she was going to use it to fill up with presents for the baby shower. Now I took this as her planning on having my newborn at her house without me, so I kindly let her know that my newborn would not be staying the night until she was at least 6-8 months we would see. And she agreed so I was kind of confused why she would buy a bassinet. Long story short yesterday I bought a bassinet I found and she got SO upset. Which made me want to keep the bassinet more to show her it's my baby lol. In the end I let her keep the bassinet and she is going to pay me the money for it, clearing up that she wanted to buy it AS A GIFT for the baby shower. Hah! So sometimes mommies we gotta just except that our MIL do have ours and our babies best interest at heart without letting our hormones get in the way lol 💕💕

@elismommy428, my MIL passed away years before our daughter was even thought of and my father in law hasn't even made an attempt to meet our daughter and I don't see my parents often but their not very involved either way. But at least we can say we raised our own child without help. And their dads were there.

(even though sometimes is impossible)

@davsmommy you're definitely right, one day you're going to look back and say,

"yup we did it, just us, no help" which will be totally worth it

Locking your doors We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?
