Freaky day for me. Woke up with what looked like a bloody 6 inch long slug coming out of my vagina and it was attached! Sooo gross! Ended up at the Doctor/hospital all afternoon and it turns out that part of my placenta had broken off and they had missed it. Yikes. Just thought I would post in case anyone else has this happen they will know what it is. Looks like they got it all now, but what a stressful experience and so difficult to try and breastfeed/take care of a 1 week old while all this is going on. Let's hope for a better day tomorrow

I had a similar situation....a piece of placenta was left in my uterus and it was rotting....the smell the cramps so gross.....thankfully it was caught in time before an infection. Glad you got seen.

@mantha823, awful right? Glad you caught yours in time too. Everyone always talks about all the complications that can happen during pregnancy, but nobody really mentions all the healing complications that can happen afterwards!
