To the momma's that have had Cesarean's before, planned or emergency, my doctor told me that I have no choice in this matter, regardless of why my first was a C-section, I was planning on a C-section anyway but now I have no choice. This is discouraging, not only do I have to have a C-section but I have to have it a week before my due date for no reason.
So now I'm not even allowed to choose my date.
I should have a say in major surgery on my body.
Not only did I get told this but they also said that I could possibly die during the surgery.
Isn't this grounds to avoid a cesarean all together?
Thoughts?
You have to understand that childbirth is a business. Plain and simple. Some things we have a hard time comprehending, and it's difficult for us to wrap our minds around why a doctor would say this and do that, but it's America. Please get a second opinion because you are being robbed of your rights and what you feel is right for you and your baby. You ALWAYS have a choice unless it is an extreme medical emergency, you have every right to refuse a c-section.
You always have a choice momma, don't let any one tell you different. Please go get a second opinion if you're not feeling right about it.. go with your gut ❤️
I just switched and this is my second opinion and there's no other doctors that take my insurance, this is my first pregnancy in this state and I feel robbed of my choices. I have talked with them and there is no medical reason to have to have one but because of my first was an emergency cesarean after 22 hours of hard labor in nc, including the 3 hours of active pushing, he was just to large to come all the way out vaginally, he was stuck at crowning when my doctor told me I was getting a cesarean. this was 9 years ago. my second was a 19 hour labor but with a successful vbac. now with my third, I have a huge problem with my choice being taken away no matter where I go!
Yeah, I'd go see another doctor for a second opinion. You are under no obligation to simply obey your OB, and it's ridiculous that they would expect that
but why would they take the baby a full week early?
they tried that on me and I said no way! I want a vbac final answer!!
You don't have to! tell them you want a vbac and that's it. I had one because she shit the meconium out and started getting an infection. had nothing to do with me not being able to birth her. don't let them push you into it! you're body you're choice really tell them no!
they said it's their policy for any woman who has had a previous cesarean no matter the reason
That's not true u don't have to have a c section unless it's medically needed u can still have a vbac I was a c section baby and my mama pushed my sister out I'm 23 and she's almost 18
why would they doctor purposely scare a pregnant woman, isn't the point to keep stress levels low not high.
You should also watch "the business of being born" and "more about the business of being born".
You always have a choice. Don't let them scare you. You just need to find a doctor whose willing to do so. If you can't find one and you're interested in a midwife, they'd definitely do it if you're having a healthy pregnancy.
@justmarriedhavingaboy, I was planning on a C-section anyway but having the choice is different than not having the choice.
I've switched doctors once already. so far both told me I have to because my first was an emergency C-section and instead of asking why they assume it was something fatal to him or me. he's 9 now and smart as heck
why do u have to? I had a c section but I'm having a vbac which took me changing docs 3 times but I don't want a c section unless i ABSOLUTELY need it!
What is it like to have a c-section? I was told by my doctor I would likely have one so I am kinda nervous.😯😯
so my first child was done by c section and so will this child....but i have a question...I was told I can only have three kids since they will be done by cesarean... anyone know??

Laila Cielle (baby A) and Zieke Eitan ( baby b ) were born at 38+1 on Jan 3,2018 via planned c-section due to baby a still being breech. The surgery was the worst ! Totally worth it to have my munchkins. Surgery was planned for 7:30am and my water coincidentally broke the night before at 11:30pm so I got to experience a bit of labor and contractions which I was actually bummed about not going through due to the planned section . They are happy healthy and very hungry babies ? ? ? ? ??
No judgements pls, but I am absolutely petrified of giving birth (and also extremely squeamish). My whole life I always said when I got pregnant, I would have a c-section. Well, now that it's almost time, I have no idea what to do 😭 I would really love to talk to mamas who've had a Cesarean by choice.. I don't have anyone in "real life" to talk to about this at all and it's really getting to me.
(*ALSO* I have a pretty large dermoid cyst on my ovary that they want to remove during a c-section i...
Does anybody know why they don’t induce labor if you had a c section before?. My doctor told me if by week 40 the baby hasn’t come on it’s own they will have to perform a c section because they can’t induce someone who had a c section before.
I was told this with my 2 yr old after having a c-section 12 years prior but wasnt a big issue with me tho because either way childbirth can be complicated. Plus i wanted my tubes tied (which btw didnt happen)...
