No judgements pls, but I am absolutely petrified of giving birth (and also extremely squeamish). My whole life I always said when I got pregnant, I would have a c-section. Well, now that it's almost time, I have no idea what to do 😭 I would really love to talk to mamas who've had a Cesarean by choice.. I don't have anyone in "real life" to talk to about this at all and it's really getting to me.

(*ALSO* I have a pretty large dermoid cyst on my ovary that they want to remove during a c-section if I have one. If I have a vaginal birth, I may end up needing abdominal surgery a few months later anyways..)

@katiibby nope. I loved it. After maybe 4 or 5 week i would dab with toilet paper just so i wouldn't be soaked but i never let it touch my stitches i just very lightly dabbed the over everywhere

@noahs.mommy haha did it feel like it actually got you clean? Like, you didn't just feel wet after? Haha

@katiibby my recovery was a breeze actually. You're not allowed to wipe when you go to the bathroom or use tampons or ANYTHING for 6 weeks. You get a perry bottle that you get to fill with warm water every time you use the bathroom and honestly i never wanted to stop using it 😂

@noahs.mommy how was your recovery after the tear? Another thing that worries me is the aftercare of my vagina after it potentially rips/is stitched up. Like not being able to wipe or anything, I definitely don't want to see what it looks like down there right afterwards either, ha

@katiibby c-section is a MAJOR abdominal surgery. My moms Friend had 5 kids 2 were vaginal and the rest were c-sections. This last baby she had she almost died because she lost so much blood, he fiance was standing in a pool of it on the floor. Her dr was on top of her trying to get her son out of her because he didn't want to come out and lodged himself in her ribs. Theres no natural way of your body helping the baby come out via c-section. Having a vaginal birth your contractions help get the baby out. I'll be honest about my vaginal delivery, i was in labor for 3 days they kept sending me home because i wasn't progressing. I labored in the hospital for 8 hours and i did have an epidural but it stopped working an hour to 2 hours before my son was born. The 8 hours went by fast though. I didn't have a clock to look at and when i was on my phone i was playing games or texting not looking at the time. My son was also sunny side up which means my sons spine was against my spine which caused me to have a back labor. Thats not something i wish on ANYONE i had to have a peanut pillow between my legs to get him to roll over but he never did. But get this i only pushed 3-4 times and he was out. I did have a 2nd degree tear, i couldn't see anything though. I had my son to fawn over the whole time i was being cleaned up so i wasn't even focused on what was going on. I'll never CHOOSE to have a c-section unless its medically necessary that i have one.

I was scared too but the further I got in my pregnancy I became less and less afraid. Your body is made for birth. Getting an epidural is so easy (I am terrified of needles) and awesome. you can also wait to hold your baby until they are wiped off.

@katiibby my son had svt and had an episode where his heart was beating super fast. Just part of all the health issues we were dealing with at the time. Its super rare so thankfully I don't have to deal with it this time around but he was born at 34 weeks

I had an emergency csection & I would NEVER push towards having another unless I was told I couldn't give birth vaginally. It took me months to recover... My baby was too heavy for me to pick up comfortably, I couldn't sit up in bed without crying for weeks or even put my own pants on. My recovery experience was awful, to say the least.

I was scared before too. Mostly of the unknown. But once youre in labor you dont give a fuck anymore. You want that baby out. You cant wait to see your creation. By any safe means! Relax, embrace and everything will unfold as it should. But im team natural 😏💯

I had an emergency c section and I wouldn't recommend getting one unless you absolutely had to. I don't want to wish that upon anyone. Its a major abdominal surgery and there's more risks associated with that than vaginal. I highly encourage you to vaginal and there's so many ways to manage pain. I encourage you to read some positive birth stories to help ease your worries.

@katiibby i don't do well with pain either. My plan is to initially plan for vaginal and then if a c section is necessary, well then it is what it is. The baby has to come out some way lmao

@juliaschade41, agree to disagree in my opinion and experience it depends on the person. You may have a c section and recovery beautifully. Statistics are cool but I wouldn't base my decision on it when it comes to this situation.

@beebaby I also heard with c sections that the pain never does actually go away. Like some women have dull pains there when the weather acts up, or when they get pregnant again, the scar gets sore when it stretches. Plus women don't like the scars anyways lol

Ответить

@juliaschade41 very true. Plus, with a vaginal birth I'll be able to breastfeed & do skin to skin right away.

I'm just so scared! (Well, Terrified) I have all these nightmares of the epidural not working or having some problem that requires an emergency C-section anyways.. plus I have a very low tolerance for pain. I feel like such a wimp but trying to take the "easiest" way out that I can :/

Ответить

@amouryaya09 understood but the percentage of bouncing back from a vaginal birth and c section is way higher. Its proven. I wanted a c section at first too, but i also want my baby to have the nutrients from the vaginal canal. Emergency c sections I completely understand though.

Not necessarily. My labor wasnt long at all with my last. My point i guess is either way it will be messy. One way you arw being cut open and the pain that comes with it. I know women 5 years later still having complications. Same with vaginal

@katiibby plus i have watched vidoes of c sections, and the way they have to pull the baby out of you, cuz you're not pushing them out naturally, is so mean and cruel in my opinion. They pull them out by the head with metal clamps and it looks horrible for the baby. 😖😖😖 they sometimes have to do that vaginally too, but more so with c sections.

Ответить

somebodysmama2

Maya 🐝Мама сына (1 год)

@juliaschade41, both can be a long recovery. I had my son vaginal and natural and it took me 6 weeks to walk by myself. There are women you bounce back from c sections. Depends on the person really

Ответить

katiibby

Katii MasonВ ожидании первенца

@beebaby that's why I'm kinda stuck, ha. Because vaginal birth means longer & more painful delivery but a faster recovery, and a Cesarean means a faster delivery but a longer & more painful recovery.

Ответить

del_1512270001_juliaschade41

@katiibby vaginal birth is more healthy for the baby and also more advantage to the mom than a c section, cuz vaginal birth requires less time to heal. Plus when the baby goes through the vaginal canal, it gets the nutrients it needs. C sections are more painful after the whole process and you can't bounce back as easily as you would if you did it vaginally. It does sound scary. It does to me too. But it's really the docs that have to deal with the bloody stuff. We just kind of lay there and let them clean up the mess. Lol

But you have to take care of the incision after. I have had 3 vaginal births, only tore once by doctors fault and no maintenance. You don't even see the blood and such during birth

@beebaby Because tbh, the thought of like, a clean cut made by Dr's behind a curtain sounds a lot more appealing, then ripping/tearing and all the blood & pain of labor/childbirth. I feel like a wimp for it, but yeah.. :/
